florida retirement communities near orlando?

Mom seems interested in moving down to florida for a few months a year to get away from the cold, but she wants to buy into a community. I have heard about "the villages" which is about 1 hr away from dw.

If anyone knows some info...good, bad any info would be appreciated also
she is also interested in other parts of florida as well but would only like to stay in a retirement community.

We had looked at The Villages when Judy was in a wheelchair, and the Sales Center really was not very accessible and they tried to ignore us.

I have now been living in Solivita for over four year and am very happy there. Normally it takes me about 45 minutes from home to clocked in at work at Typhoon Lagoon.

We just closed on a house in Solivita - will be spending the summer there. Have had very positive experiences - yes it is a little far out and yes we have wild turkeys and armadillos walking around BUT the people are wonderful

thank you for your suggestion...it is a little scary and overwelming
to know where to even start to look. Mom will be taking a few trips
to Orlando pretty soon and hopes to see a few places with my aunt.
