I am planning a first trip to disney for my family for next year.My question is my father lives in Florida so if he goes to to disney with us can he get rooms and children tickets for the Resident rates for us(room)and tickets for the grandchildren only?

I'm sure someone else will jump in if I'm wrong, but if he's staying in a room with you, as long as there are FL. resident discounts available, then yes, I think you can use it. As for a ticket for a child, I believe the only discounts are for the Play 4 pass, which expires the end of this month, and the Seasonal and Annual passes, I really don't know if there's a discount on park hoppers. If there was, Disney does not check ID's on children, so, yes your dad could get them. You may get the arguement here that that's not the moral thing to do, but that's your business.
Hope I helped and did not confuse you more. :p

Thanks for the reply and yes it was helpful. But as to not get flamed on the subject more than likely my dad will want to experience his grandchildren going to disney for the first time ever and will insist on paying for their tickets but I could not allow him to do so at his expense if he had to pay regular rates for them, that is our responsibility because we are not residents.
But as a grandfather if he could get the discounts for them and wanted to do so as a gift I would have no problem with it.He doesn.t know that I'm planning a trip yet I wanted this info before we told him so I could have a heads up on him lol.

thanks again!

Don't feel guilty or anything for using Florida residents to get discounts. the only people eho may get mad are the people who have no connections and them same people would use it if the could. Save money and say you all live in FL. Disney is expensive so use any means can in getting it cheaper.

I believe that Florida resident tickets are available only to actual Florida residents and can not be purchased for out-of-state family or friends. But, maybe I misread.

If the Florida resident purchases the room, then all discounts are available to the purchaser, I believe. The tickets are another matter.

Does the fact that a WDW vacation can be expensive enter into following the guidelines? Let your conscience be your guide is what many have posted in the past about this subject. I would be interested in what other Florida residents have to say about how they handled this.
