Typically are there more Florida resident rates than there are AP rates?

DH and I are looking into relocating to Tampa for work and cost of living reasons and I'm just curious about the FL res. rates as a perk to moving to Florida!

It depends on the occupancy and how rooms are selling. The sells dept looks at what the outlook is and how reservations are going and make that decision a month or so in advance or at the last minute. Ofcourse if you purchase a Fla Res AP pass you can ask for both rates and take whatever is available. It is only about an hour and a half to two hours, depending on how bad the traffic is on I4, drive to Orlando from Tampa. So living that close you might find the Fla Res AP pass beneficial.
I know alot of the cms that live in Lakeland which isnt far from Tampa and commute to work. Polk county is cheaper then Orange.

Well, you will definitely save more $$$ on disney trips. No more airfare, since Tampa is 2hrs away (or is it one?)

Many Fl Res here on the DIS and many people I know have never had trouble getting FL resident rates. Also, there are some very nice offiste hotels (blasphemy) that have great FL res rates . You won't have to rent a car or be at the mercy of hotel transportation, in or out of disney.

FL Res rates are plentiful, not only in Orlandoy, but hotels all over FL. Disney cruise lines have FL rates and plenty of other cruises that you can do withtout having to fly first.

Fl Ap's cost less and there is the option of the Seasonal pass. Fl play 4 days work as well and you can upgrade those.

Disney dining experience saves 20% in most sit-down restaurants
and there is also an Epcot after 4pm pass.

swan /dolphin and universal hotels have great Fl res deals.

Sea World and busch gardens have some sort of pass deal for the year and the yearly passes at US/IOA are great, too for FL res.

There are really so many options for vacationing in FL.
