Is there a way to research the history of Florida Resident discounts (FRD)?

1. For instance, do they usually release FRD in December?
2. If they do, do you think the FRD's would have the same dates as those of you who are getting the other discount codes for December?

3. If you think they might release FRD for Dec., when might they be released?

I am considering reserving a room at a deluxe for Dec. just to hold the room, but it would really be above our budget if we did not receive a discount of some kind.

I'm interested in what y'all think....... :surfweb:

:goodvibes mousesavers shows for last year's FL Res discounts for December:

http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html

For stays 10/4/09-12/24/09 Florida Resident room-only rates became available on 7/23/09, exp 12/24/09

*This was also the first time you could book as a FL Res package and add FL Res tickets and DDP to a FL room only special.

My notes show the rates in December depended on which date/season you went:

November 29 – December 17, 2009 – Value Season
December 18 – 24, 2009 – Holiday Season

Sample FL Res room only rates were:

POP $54 – $89 per night
CBR $89 – $124 per night
WL $139 – $229 per night
AKL Savannah $204 – $309 per night
BC $234 – $354 per night
POLY GV $254 – $404 per night
GF GV $298 – $473 per night
SSR 2 BR $419 – $724 per night
BLT 2 BR MK View $609 – $1,144 per night

Other good deals for the general public came out around the same time, so watch for those this year also.

Thank you for this Seahunt. Your notes with actual prices helps a lot. I sure hope we luck out like that again this year.

We plan on traveling during Value season. I should put a deposit down now on rooms that I want, wouldn't you say? And then, hopefully apply a discount when it comes out?

I would do this and then watch like a hawk  As soon as you see any FL res rates released for your dates, call them ASAP to have your res modified. I have done this before and they just credited the difference to the credit card I used to book with. I'm thinking it took a couple days for the credit to show up.

Can a FL Resident book more than one room?
I am the Disney pro in my family, but my dad is travelling with us in December and he is a FL resident.

I'm wondering if he will be able to take advantage of any FRD's for our trip in December if they are released, and possibly extend them to the two other non-resident reservations.

Is this possible?
