Florida Resident Annual Pass and Room Discounts

I'm new to all of this AP stuff, so please bare with me.

My DH & I will be moving to Orlando in February and one of the first things we're going to do is get a FL resident AP! A dream come true for me!

My question is about discounts with booking rooms. Can FL residents always get a discount, etc?

We'd like to book a couple of nights at one of the Deluxe Resorts for our 1-year anniversary in June. Are there any deals we can get with our FL resident AP?

Once you are a resident, you can get the resident room rate discounts (when they offer them).. if you end up with an AP or SP, you will be able to get the AP discounts.. cannot combine discounts though. .. SP is the seasonal pass which is for FL residents only.. there are blackout dates & no free parking but other than that, all other discounts are the same. You can even get room discounts during the park blackout dates.. hope this helps..

How can I find out when the resident rates are offered or AP rates? When are they usually offered for June? Thanks!

the begining of June is usually a good month for residents. If you get the SP, your blackout dates for the parks start on June 9th for this coming June.
There are usually resident rates & AP rates for basically every month. It is just a matter of watching these boards or calling Disney Reservations to check to see if any are out. When they come out, make your ressie asap so you are sure to get what you want. they normally announce the disount rates for the residents shortly after the AP rate announcement. For the begining of June, the rates should be announced sometime in April.... mid June thru the summer should be out by May..
now that is not a definate.. Disney has held out to like 2 weeks before then released the discounts.
