florida car rentals-how do you know how much the "extras" are?

ive been researching the best rates for rental cars in florida for june. the best ive found, thanks to this board, is avis, using #k16332y, for $117/week/compact. however, im wondering about all the extra fees are and if they vary by company. in other words, i may be paying only $117/week with avis, but what else do i have to pay for? "taxes and fees" are they standard with all companies? we don't need insurance, we don't need extra driver, all we would want is unlimited mileage (which is included with this rate). so what can i expect my $117/week to turn into for a total, including "taxes and fees?"

Hi, I'm renting an intermediate with Natl. base price is $ll4, with fees it totals $l52 for the week. You can to Nationals website to find out the fees are for exactly.All car rental fees for florida are pretty standard.

how did you get this rate on line? i went to their site and the price with code 5007125, ncrweb promo code was something close to $250/week! did you use the emerald club discount? i just applied for this card, so it'll be a few weeks before i can input my id# to see the rate for this. if not, what codes did you use and when are you traveling? we're going in june. would that make a difference?

There is a form (I forget the name of it) that you can get from your car insurance agent that is proof of car insurance. You show this to the rental company, and you don't have to pay extra for their insurance.

You can simply decline the insurance and that is the end of it. YOu don't need proof of insurance from your insurance company.

the "extras" are pretty standard.
The following numbers are for an offsite rental.
8.70% priviledge fee recovery charge (have no idea what that is)
2.00 per day surcharge
0.05 per day waste and battery fee
.30 per day license recoupement fee
6.00% sales tax.
Onsite rental:
Concession recovery charge 9.8%
Fla. License Fee .40 per day
Fl Surcharge/tire and battery fee 2.05 per day
Sales tax 6.00%
