Not really, we just get in the car and drive 2 hours. I feel your pain for the extra expense if you live far away.

Sure did. We flew in 2012, we're driving in 2014. Almost twice as expensive in only two years.

Flights are extraordinarily expensive for next year from the UK.

We only ever fly direct, and we fly from Manchester as we like to fly Virgin Atlantic.........we have no desire to go indirect at all, but some people think it's a bit cheaper if you wanted to consider that. Or wait for the sales?

We would have liked to pay less but it is what it is and we just paid up.

Days of cheap flights to the US may be long gone unfortunately.
