Flooded Cam - Wanted: Ricoh GX8/Sea & Sea DX8000

Well the inevitable thing for an underwater camera has happened to mine, it's been exposed to moisture! Lent it to a buddy and he had a flooding problem. Oh bother! The housing is probably salvageable but the camera is, of course, toast. Would anyone know where I may be able to get a Ricoh Caplio GX8 camera? They do not seem to be to popular in the U.S. and a quick search with Google doesn't turn up any and there's none available on eBay.

It has to be that camera as it, and the 5MP Caplio GX, are the only cameras to fit the housing. Sea and Sea sells the housing plus the camera as the DX-8000G. If all else fails I guess the insurance company may help finance a new one!

Have you looked for foreign stores that might ship to the US? Possibly British or Australian? We have some board regulars from out of the US, so hopefully some of them will read this thread. You might want to consider renaming the thread to indicate underwater, Ricoh, or something b/c it looks like any other, "Help me pick a new digital camera b/c I don't know what I want" thread. Those type threads get ignored by many.
