The tail of the haircut

Well well well, it is almost 1 year for little peanut on this world. we really thought we could make it to his 1st birthday till his hair cut...but we couldnt

Candi has been in love with his hair for a long time, well she has loved everything about that little guy so, his hair and his first hair cut of course was going to be tough for her

She loves running her fingers through it, it was very thick in the back

She told me the other day and then showed me that she was able to pull his hair together in the back and almost get it into a pony tail

I drew the line and said call and make the appointment, that is to long

So she did and saturday we headed to pigtails and crewcuts

last time it will be blowing in the breeze

In this one you can see how long it had gotten in the back

he did so good playing with the thomas train set while waiting his turn, he would just walk around the table and play with the trains and hand them to the other little boys playing. it was very cute

his hair stylist was Ms Holly she really liked parker, and had fun talking with candi as well

my beautiful locks are dissapearing help daddy

actually he did really good he loved playing in that car

and each station has its own TV with DVD player so he picked out backyardigans to watch

she let him play with the buzzer that was going to get his neck line and he licked it so he let her work on it.

then it started to tickle him so he held on tight to the stearing wheel

and the finished back

and it was such a nice weekend outside that we took him to the park to swing

Oh I agree with Candi...how sad that your little man is growing up! He looks like a big boy now! I still can't believe my baby is 6 mos old already on Wednesday! Time really flys by. I am hoping Caleb can hold off on his 1st haircut until he is 16 mos old and in Disney. That hair cutting place looks really cool! I want my hair done there!!

so funny that you thought his hair was long! have you seen luke's hair? when anna gets it cut she asks for the "little surfer dude" look. but they didn't get his cut until he was 18 months. that's the tradition in chris's family so that's what they did and he had LONG hair when they did it. you would've went NUTS! he looked like a little girl but when he's 18 months i don't guess it really matters. i have pictures if you wanna see them but i didn't want to post them here without your permission.

Awww love the first haircut pictures! So so so cute. That's awesome that he got the police car. And so great that he did so well with the hair cut. I know some kids just kick and scream through the entire process so what a relief for you and Candi that he stat through it so well I'm sure. Thanks for sharing

i am sure we could have went longer with his, but it was looking really straggly and messy all the time, he looks so handsome with it that i am glad we did it

yeah it was, they even had a room that you could close off to keep the kids in it to play, she told us that if candi wanted to get her hair cut there during the week, one of the girls would play with parker in the room that has huge windows that look out on to the salon area, so she could have a nice haircut on her own

they gave us some of the first snips in a little plastic baggy, candi is going to put it in his scrap book

thanks, it is a really cool place and the girls are so nice, everyone that came in they knew the kids and were asking them about stuff going onin there life, they remember what each kid is up outside the salon it was really cool

yeah they were a little pricey but i think we will just go there for special occasions, i have cut some hair before, so i think i can trim him up when we need it.

either that or give him to grandpa and grandmas and have them take him and pay for it.

I got to 7,000 yesterday. I totally missed it too

Oh man, I don't see what makes kids so afraid of getting a hair cut. I think it has a lot to do with the parents and how they act at the time of the hair cut. If they are laid back then the kid will be laid back about it but if the parent is apprehensive about the hair cut then the kid will be too. At least that's what it seems to me with a lot of things with young children. But, hell, what do I know? I'm not a parent.

I can really sympathize with your wife! My son had the cutest little curl in the back that had to be "trimmed" off when he was about your sons age. I still have it in a baggie - but it's just not the same! sniff, sniff..... Cute pics!

okay. remember that it's a family tradition for them not to get a haircut until 18 months old. so chris wouldn't let anna do anything until that point. this was taken about a month before his first haircut. what a little hippie boy!

here he is in the chair. you can see how long it was.

he has, and we think that he has started to say mamama now, but it comes out nananana he was screaming it at lunch today, he has been saying dadadada for a long time, so it was time for him to bring candi into it now.
