I know in the new camera I just got I have the movie option, but for 149 I thought of getting this, flip video, it looks so nice and easy to get on to the laptop!! any experience with this? I just wanted something lite to use for disney, nothing fancy or pricey at all....let me know please!

I have the Creative Vado. As PP mentioned, low light videos will be grainy. But the videos taken in good light are excellent. Our Vado has 720p, HD. It looks great on our 47" screen, which surprised me. I did a bit of research before buying ours and it did well in all of the reviews I read.

Oh, I just remembered. I took the Christmas parade at WDW at night and I was shocked at how well these came out. And Osborne lights were great too.

I like my flip too. I'm not looking to make creative movie masterpieces. I like having something to post quick videos of the kids on the internet for their grandparents to see.

We found that we never used our 'real' video camera. Even though it is small, it is too big and we hated messing with tapes etc.

The Flip works just fine for us.

this is just want I want it for. nothing fancy, something more for those quick something is happening, get it on video type things! lol I am going to disney in May with some other castmembers and I know some funny stuff will go down!! so I just want it for that, and maybe send my DD stuff over internet!

We also never use our "real" camera anymore. It's so handy because it's small. We never had a new tape when we needed it. We actually bought it to take to WDW because we never felt like carrying the big camera and missed so many good moments! It's very easy to use. We are really happy with it.

We love our Flip. I would definitely go with the HD version though.

I have a Flip cam - I bought it for my online journalism class last semester. They're great for posting short, quick videos but the quality isn't the greatest and the sound quality is mediocre, at best. I only have the regular one but the HD one has much better video quality. Here's a piece I filmed with my Flip last semester.

Costco has the Vado 8G for $99. A great buy. Also HD

We love ours and use it all the time. It's simple to use and small to carry around. Would buy another in a flash. :thumbsup2

I would spend $50-$100 more and buy a video camera that uses sd cards. I was so tempted to buy a flip camera (when someone posted a website on here that was selling them for $50 before christmas) but decided against it after I went to best buy and looked at the camcorders. They had the JVC Everio on sale for about $225. The quality is 100 times better than a flip camera. Its super light and fits right into my purse.

BUT- If your just going to be using the camera to post videos on youtube or to just watch on your laptop, the flip would be perfect for that.

As I recall flip videos do not have build in image/video stabilization (so videos will be shaky). That's just something else to consider!
