hi everyone..

I wanted to know how many people wear flip flops all day in the park..

I wear them everyday here at home but I don't know if my feet will hurt in the parks..

any help would be great

Frankly I dont get the facination with Flip Flops, just another anoying trend. Here in Buffalo school kids wear them ALL YEAR. It has become a liability problem in the schools and students are now being sent homw w/o proper footwear. There is nothing as assinine as flip flops in subzero weather with two feet of snow. They are dangerous as well with toes being exposed to the large crowds for stepping on and stubbing. Be a trend setter and dont end up walking around in bare feet (disgusting dirty ones to boot) because your feet have no support in your filps. Try a nice pair of enclosed sandels or sneakers your feet will thank you after 3 days of pounding the pavement.

I am still sporting a black toenail from our trip back in October wearing my sandals! This year I am wearing closed toe shoes so I don't have a matched pair of smashed toes. I smashed it getting on a ride, but I forget which one! You will be ok if you're not a klutz like I am.

Sorry to hear you feel that way. It is your opinion. I don't think a sandal protects anymore than a flip flop does. I wear Teva's that do have support in them. If someone wants to wear them in the park what is the problem? I agree there is a time and a place for flip flops. Even I ddidn't walk in the snow with them.

I wouldn't wear them myself. My daughter found that she was comfortable wearing flip-flops in the parks. However, people were continually stepping on the backs of hers, and she was tripping and having them pulled off throughout the day. She didn't wear them again after that.

I want to know when flip-flops became dress shoes??? All the girls were wearing them with their very dressy dresses at the choir concert the other night.

Woah! What did the flip flop ever do to you?

I wear flip flops in the Parks. I wear Clarks with great support, alternated with Teva's & Crocs. It is what I am most comfortable in. I don't wear the thin, flat ones, but if someone is comfy in those, then good for them.

I have to say, after a dozen trips to WDW and a couple to DL, several Hershey, Six Flags etc.... all wearing flops or sandals, I have only had my toe stepped on once, by a 7 year old in our party who was dancing around in que in excitement.

Wear what YOU are most comfortable in - that is the key. If you usually wear sandals, wear them. If you usually wear sneakers, wear sneakers. My SIL usually wears a platform or heeled sandal & that is what she wears in WDW. I couldn't do it, but that's what works for her.

Maybe they are a trend in New York, but here in Florida where the weather is much warmer, they are a staple. I run around barefooted all year long, but when I do go somewhere that requires shoes, I slip on my flip flops. I don't think there is anything trendy about them here. Just about comfort and ease of wearing them. :smooth:

LOL it looks like this might turn into "the great flip-flop debate '05". Could it replace refillable mugs in terms of controversy? :rotfl:

I am a flip-flop queen. I wear them from May until September here in the midwest. Do I wear them in snow???? NO But they are very comfortable for me and I spend most of the day walking around in them. I did wear them in the parks last fall and plan to again this year. Last year I had cheap ones this year I am wearing Teva's so I'll compare.

I wear them in the parks. Since they do offer a little less support, they can make your feet a little more tired at the end of the day. I find that switching off, sneakers one day, flip-flops the next works out quite well.

Well, since Florida never really sees subzero weather, your comment doesn't really add much to this thread. Like another poster said, what did the flip flop do to you!??! :confused3

To the OP... I wear flip flops all summer long (except at work) and would be totally uncomfortable wearing anything else in the parks. If they're what you're use to wearing you'll probably feel uncomfortable wearing anything but them.

I like to wear sneakers for the largest part of the day and then change to flip flops (Teva brand) for the evening. Nothing feels better than changing shoes. My tired, hot feet feel so good I can walk around the parks for hours after already having walked around the parks for hours!

However, this year, I'm going to try wearing Teva sandals at the parks. I hear so much about them, I just had to try them. LOL

JMHO

Another flip flop lover. My last two WDW trips I have worn a Teva flip flop, and my feet were much more comfortable than in previous strips when I wore sneakers. Everyone's feet are different, and for me flip flops are a personal preference.

Here is a link to my newest flip flop. They have a toe guard that covers the big toe. I love them!

Tevas are great, but make sure you break them in a little before vacation. (Even tevas can "rub you the wrong way", so to speak, if you aren't used to them.)

I wore sneakers one day at WDW and by the end of the day I was starting to form blisters. I ended up wearing flip flops the rest of the trip and boy I was so comfortable in them.

I live in flipflops up until it gets too cold up here, but when I'm down in WDW, I wear flipflops all the time. (hmm... reminds me... I need to get new ones this year)

If your feet can stand being in them and walking for miles, then go for it. I love walking around in flipflops at WDW. Didn't get any blisters at all!

Hehehe! I guess since the flip flop makers started attaching little sequins and such to the straps! :goodvibes Its a pretty good excuse to call them dressy shoes, I guess. :cool1:

Flip flops are ok as long as they have a decent sole on them. When DH and I were there a few weeks ago I wore my polo ones all day with no problems at all. Just make sure they are a good pair, not like the $2 ones Old Navy sells. Have fun!
