Has anyone ever taken a flight to San Juan , Puerto Rico lately. My friend just returned from a cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas and came back with a future cruise deal. Next Jan 23-30 on the Seranade of the Seas, Deck 7 balcony room at a price of $975.00 Cdn., per person, taxes included, less airfare. A Western Disney Cruise on the same date is quoted through Dreams unlimited trave is $3550.00 U.S. for 2 people. I love the Mouse but I can not turn down this deal. How much does it normally cost to fly out of Toronto and/or Detroit?

I have been looking at some of the RCCL cruises from San Juan for next spring break, as they do some great ports.

From the little research I have done so far, Cruise Air from Toronto booked through RCCL, is about $900 per person.

Jet Blue, Air Tran and US Air have flights to San Juan from Buffalo and they are between $400-$500 US, but are all connecting flights. I think you can get direct flights from Detroit, but I have not priced that out.

Good afternoon....:goodvibes
We flew down to San Juan in November and sailed on RCI's Adventure of the Seas. What a wonderful cruise...!!!:thumbsup2 What a great price on your cruise for next January!!!:cool1: As much as I loved my cruise on the Disney Magic, Royal Caribbean seems to be a better fit/price for my family!
When we cruised out of San Juan in November we flew down with US Airways the day before our cruise (connnection in Charlotte) and flew home afterwards direct with Air Canada. Our flight was just over $700 per person.
We are flying down to San Juan again this November (sailing on the Carnival Victory) We are flying roundtrip direct with Air Canada and our flight is $750 per person.
Oh, I should add that our flights were from Toronto and in canadian dollars.
Hope this helps.....:goodvibes

We flew from Detroit to San Juan last year on March break and did a Carnival cruise - hit a different port every day and some amazing ports too!!

We paid $3300USD taxes in for the 4 of us in a balcony room (dh, myself, 8yo and 13yo boys) and the flights from Detroit on North West were $330USD each return, taxes in. Flights were direct too.

We flew in on a Friday and out on a Monday as the flight prices were much cheaper - we stayed in the Holiday Inn Express in Old San Juan for $140/nt and were happy with it - rooms were small but clean and served the purpose - lots of restaurants around there too - we ate at Chili's one night and tried a local restaurant another night.... tried Chicken Mofongo which is a chicken in sauce served in a mashed plantain.... was great!! Loved having the few extra days to check out old San Juan - if you go to the fort on a Sunday afternoon there are usually hundreds of people there flying kites.... a sight to see!!

I love going to see the mouse too but it was a nice change to see/do something different!! We're thinking of doing an Alaskan cruise this summer now instead of California....... not sure yet though!

RCI out of San Juan always has great cruise deals! Someimes Princess do as well..... Air Canada Vacations have some excellent prices right now on Serenade OTS and Adventure OTS out of SJU incl air. You can also look at Jetblue from Buffalo. I have done them a few times to SJU and they are great!

:thumbsup2
