Still on with flights ! Anyone ever changed at new York flying with American airlines? Stopover on way in was 2 hours 50minutes but on way back it seems to be only 40 minutes is there rules about selling connecting tickets eg does it have to be doable...if that makes sense? Cheers

It would be easier to try to help if you posted a specific flight schedule. If I read your question correctly, you are trying to change planes in one of the three New York airports. Please try to be more specific about what you are trying to accomplish.

2 hours 50 mins is fine going out.
Coming back 40 mins is a little tight but doable if the flight up from Orlando to NYC is on time. Problem is if you have a delay on the MCO~NYC leg the chances are you will be in NYC for 24 hours until the next flight.
Check if they have an earlier flight up from MCO~NYC. If not then check if AA have another flight back to your UK airport the same day that they might be able to fit you on if you miss your original flight.

Another option is check for Tampa instead of MCO. We are using Tampa again in Feb as the flight times/connections were better than MCO.

It might also be worth checking what type of plane it is from NY. I can see some reasonable flights from Manchester to Orlando via NY with American but the transatlantic leg is on a 757 which I don't really fancy.
