Flights LAX or SFO to Honolulu - is March this much cheaper than summer?

Debating a family trip to Hawaii for 2013. To get an idea of pricing for then, I priced using 2012 fares.

Flights from either LAX or SFO to Honolulu are ~ $360 pp roundtrip for March, vs at least $700 return in the summer. Are airfares to Hawaii that much cheaper to fly in March as opposed to the summer?

I am wondering the same. We are planning to go in the summer and fares are soooooo much cheaper in the spring.

Hawaii's high season are both the summer months (mid-June to August) when families travel and winter (Dec to Feb) when the "Snowbirds" migrate to the warmer climates.

Spring (excepting Easter break) and Fall (excepting Thanksgiving) is off season...just like WDW.

Cheapest travel (again like WDW) should be March, first couple weeks of May, the weeks right after Labor Day, and 1st two week in Dec.
