I am trying to book flights for Aug 23rd to Aug 29th and was going to go with Virgin. A few weeks ago the price was as low as £419. Today the same flights are £799!:scared1: I knew they were creeping up but that is close to double the original price, unfortunately I had to wait for pay day. The best deal I have found today is £423, via Washington, through Airline Network, which is still ok. If anyone finds anything better then please let me know.

Do you have any frequent flying points? £479 +2000points each.

Have a look at Expedia.co.uk

Various options...

One that sticks out is BA direct on the way out (dep 11.05am arr 15.20am) comes back via MIA (dep MCO at 17.50pm, arr LHR 10.05am), but that flight leaves from LGW and arrives into LHR (so may not be convnient if you need to drive and park...). If you are taking the train or being picke up, then it cold work. Or you could look at parking at LHR the night before the outward flight and taking a coach to LGW and staying there the night before the flight. Price £474.60 per person.

Cheapest direct flight (there and back) is BA: on the way out (dep 11.05am arr 15.20am), on the way back (dep 16.05pm arr 06.30am) in and out of LGW. Price £631.50 per person.

You might want to look at flydrives and packages too - maybe that will work out cheaper?

Claire ~ If you were prepared to travel to Glasgow. Flyglobespan has flights which are cheaper than the prices you have been quoted.

Virgin flydrive £687 with no car insurance(Dont have to pick up their car)

Flyglobespan- Glasgow-Sanford £403.50

I saw those flights too. I am sure they will offer something similar nearer the time. I am never booking advance flights again as every time I have been to Orlando I have seen a last minute deal for half the price. I am not fussy who I fly with and can be flexible a few days either side. Airtours are great for last minute flydrives and Travel City Direct discount nearer the time. We flew with TCD last year and they were great. Good luck.

Actually, I just check lastminute.com and, for going out on the 23rd and returning on 29th August, I am getting £448.50 per
adult on Virgin (direct)!

Fizz, you might want to check that out...

Since what you found on ebookers...

I think that Virgin may have been playing around with their revenue management yeaterday.... early yesterday Virgin was only offering expensive seats, but later yesterday a number had been made cheaper across most agents (lastminute.com, ebookers etc...).

If I was the OP, I would get on and book them quick (just incase they move around again or the allocation at that price gets sold...).

Thank you very much everybody for your brilliant detective work, i will get on to it straight away and let you know, you guys are stars:grouphug:

You were right about virgin BTW, their prices have come back down:goodvibes The strange thing is, that by using miles plus money, the ticket is £35 more expensive than a regular purchase. What a waste of miles if you were to make that mistake:scared1:
I'm still on it, thanks again.

Showing as £443.40 on VA direct today with the sale :)

Claire ;)
