Not Disney related but I know there are a lot of folks from England who come to Disney so figure this might be a good place to ask. My son is spending a year on exchange to the University of Cambridge and I need to get him into Heathrow NLT 10am on October 1st. Assuming we're booking one way because we have no clue when the return would be yet for Christmas or the end of the year.
However, when I price tickets on Kayak, I get a lot in the $400-800 range (one way) assuming I book through Kayak or CheapoAir. Once I go to the specific airlines websites (Icelandair, Virgin Atlantic, Aer Lingus, Air Canada), the prices seem to be more like $1400 one way.
I normally would always book through an airline directly but hate to just throw away $1000. Are there huge disadvantages to booking through Kayak? Where do you book when you travel? Are there certain airlines to avoid?
Thanks so much for any help!
