Flights are booked!!

Just booked our flights for Christmas week through Southwest and their 50k points credit card deal, and had points left over for next year! So excited!!

congrats!! nice to be able to look past your next trip to the one after that!

just looked at booking ours using points. have enough for 4 of the 5 of us to fly "free" (about $145 each in taxes and fees) and then one additional flight (with $100 discount due to leftover points).... it will be $832. not exactly *free* but better than the alternative of full price.

although every day i look at the canadian dollar, my trip goes up and up in price. DH keep saying "you know.... this really isn't the best time to go"..... (hands over ears, i don't wannna hear it!!)

LOL That sounds like my DH! Tell him it's only going to be more expensive if you wait. Go for it!!

I hope our CDN dollar rebounds before we go back in 2018.

Awesome deal! I used my 50k to book our flights last year and with the points I still had (along with some use and doinig e-rewards surveys), used it to buy our flights this year as well. If you can find a good sale you can get several round trips out of it.

We have enough for 2 out of 3 flights for next year, so we're happy with that! If we rent a car thru southwest we get more points then too, but I'm not sure that's a good option cost wise?
