we live in the Hamilton area and have always flown SW from Buffalo. Looking at prices for our October trip and I can get a $180(with 1bag) on the way down with Jet Blue--$202 SW and $290 back with SW. Jet Blue has not opened their flights back we need yet.
The SW flights seem to be going up every couple of days.
Any Jet Blue pros out there who always have a good experience?
We have never had an issue with SW(10+ flights)

I have flown Jet Blue and Southwest almost exclusively for the last several years. I prefer JetBlue. We've always had a great experience with that company. I don't like Southwest's boarding procedure with unassigned seats, however I would say the airlines are both very good (at least we've had good luck with both).

My brother flys out of NY and loves Jet Blue. I live in Vancouver, so would have to fly out of Seattle to use Jet Blue or SW. Occas I do drive to Seattle but need overnight hotel and the hotel costs are up, so no benefit at the moment.
On recommendation from a Diser, I just downloaded the Hopper App. It tracks airfare for your dates and let's you know when to buy. I'm watching my Nov trip to WDW.

You're right about the crazy prices. I just booked a return flight out of Buffalo for October with Southwest for $332USD. That's $100 higher than I paid the same time last year. JetBlue had a cheaper option, but once I factored in luggage, it was only $20 cheaper than Southwest. Also, Southwest won't penalize you $100 per flight if you should need to change your plans, not that I've ever had to.
I've flown JetBlue a couple of times out of Buffalo, no issues.

We always fly Jet blue if we can, although recently the costs have not been comparable to flying out of Pearson. We have always had great experiences with Jet Blue and I would highly recommend them.

I've flown JetBlue out of Syracuse 4x plus & always had a good experience. Think Westjet but slightly wider & more comfortable seats. Since last Spring, they have started to charge for a checked bag. I haven't flown with them for the past year or so because of the falling Cdn $ and my commute down plus flight times always meant I had to book a Syracuse hotel room either pre or post flight.
