Flight offers?

I know its asked alot but was wondering when special offer's/cheap flights pop up? I have had quotes from Virgin for £2k just for flights for 4 of us next year??...(yes just back and looking again lol).
We want to D.I.Y this ourselves instead of opting for a Virgin package but it's all new to me,so any tips advice would be grateful.

We just got brilliant deal with virgin a couple of weeks ago (so last minute booking really) they had an offer on flights for sept £307 each.

Not too sure when you are looking at going tho so not sure when the deals would be out.

I was looking around June time again next year,I did see the offers on the virgin atlantic website they have 50% off is it on flights leading upto december this year,great prices but abit too soon for me

Unlikely to have any good deals as it is prime time school holidays.

Direct flights in August are silly money, around £800 each very rarely discounted, we have not done too bad last 2 years using miles and money or this year miles for a free flight but these offers are getting harder to find. Personally I would not pay these prices and go indirect, going 18th August this year for 2 weeks you can book today Cheaptickets.com have Delta from Gatwick at £337 or AA (AA.com)from Heathrow £328.
I have just booked Oct half term indirect at £241, Virgin were about £900 each. Its great going direct but not worth these costs IMO.

All depends which hub you change in, somewhere on the east coast is better than going inland to somewhere like Chicago, adds time on both ways. Work on about 13-14hours going out and 12-13hours coming home.
I like a 2 hour change going and 1hr:30 coming home.

Have you looked at Flydrive, just looked at 9th June 09 2 weeks, £2,058. Frequent flyer discount should bring it down to around £1,980 then 3% cashbach thru Quidco total around £1,920. Then means you only have to pay deposit.
Its a little OTT but its booked, its direct and can pay next year. Worth the little extra for some.
I would be looking at £1600-1800 Direct, £1200-1400 indirect (2 adults and 2 under 12's)

If its 2 weeks have you looked at TCD? (Best Western Lakeside, hotel we like) £2,302 incl hotel, direct flights to Sanford and full size car with Platinum cover. Loads more htels cheaper and dearer.

I think the January sale for late May early June was about £350 in economy for adults.
