I am still not in the holiday mood - but in the 'worry have I done everything' mode - and we fly next Wednesday!

I can't remember the last time we went what virgin served on the flight - can somebody please remind me!? We fly at 1.45pm landing at 6pm local time?

I am still worrying silly about breakfast the following morning in our villa as it'll be late when we arrive and I have seriously thought about the grocery delivery facility but I'd rather wait to do our shop as I love the supermarkets!
Can anybody suggest something I can pack for the boys (9 & 7) can eat in the morning before we leave the villa to go out for shopping? My boys can eat and eat and I am concious that tired, hungry children along with exhausted parents is not a great combination!

Thanks to you all for all your advice it really has been fantastic xx

Im so jealous Paula, I wish I was going next week! *Sigh* Haha!

Maybe pack some cereal bars for breakfast the next morning? For us, when we get there and when we are staying in a villa, the excitement of being in Orlando gives us a second wind when we land and we always do the shopping on the first day there! Then its done and dusted and ready to get to the parks the next morning!

Hope you have a fab holiday! Usually on the flight its one meal, a snack trolley and then serve something small before landing! :)

Ah thanks Lisa, I still can't believe it's next week - hasn't helped that on my birthday some wild dancing last week meant a badly sprained wrist in a sling and splint - it's getting better but it's left me a bit fed up as I can't do anything! I'm sure by next week it'll be fine a bit sore - but I've tested my gripping action ready for the rides and it feels fine!!

Great idea about the breakfast bars-- I'll get some of them and like you said maybe we'll get a second wind - just depends how long it takes to get to the villa!

Thanks again x

Hi Paula,

We flew Virgin Last September and we had 1 main meal - Chinese curry or Meat potatoes and veg (both options were with salad, roll and GU pot for dessert). We then had a sandwich about 2 hours before we were about to land.

My advice would be to pack cereal bars or the like, anything that is not too squishable!

Have a magical time:wizard:

Thanks Sam - not sure on the curry - maybe I should order myself a childs meal to be safe! My boys can eat and eat (luckily they stay slim!).

Woah, that must have been some wild dancing to have sprained your wrist, were you break dancing? Hahahaha! I hope it gets better soon! :upsidedow

Usually you are offered a choice for your main meal, its not just one option so for example the chinese curry could have been the chicken option and then they might have sausage and mash for example as another option and then maybe a vege/fish option? x

What about Poptarts? DH loves these and has them every morning for breakfast when we aren't going out to eat.

We've never had them - but good suggestion may get some in too!

Lisa - I blame my boots and a slippy floor!!

It always blame the slippy floors lol :rolleyes1 pop tarts sound like a good idea to me, the are fun and yummy. We are going on Monday and I am the same, haven't quite got the holiday happies but in full blown planning mode, I have lists coming out my ears!!!! Happy holidays :thumbsup2

I think I need to start with the lists they are all in my head and I keep meaning to write things down as I think of them - but then forget!

I'm now doing the whole 'packing tips' searching to see what advice I can find from those savvie packers!

Have a fab holiday looks like it'll be a hot one! xx

Lisa - I notice you've stayed at Solana = that's where we're going - did you like it there - if you didn't just lie!!! It's too late for me to change it now! xx

I would just pop into a gas station near the villa for a few breakfast essentials on the way to the villa then do a big shop later.
We find that we are always really thirsty after the long flights and have to buy some drinks anyway so its quick and easy to just add some milk and cereals.
I love being first one awake in the morning and sitting out with a nice cup of tea before everyone else is up:goodvibes

Hi Paula, we normally take the mini boxes of cereal with us, Tesco recently had the Kellogs 8 boxes for £1, we take plastic bowls and plastic cutlery and buy milk from the hotel shop when we get there, hope this helps! :thumbsup2

Thanks for your suggestions everyone - I love the idea of sitting on the balcony with a brew before everyone else but that would never happen my boys are very early risers!

Must get some shopping done now !! xxx

Hi Paula!

We really loved Solana, we rented two villas on there because there were so many of us and both of them were really nice! We didnt use the clubhouse but we went to have a look and it did look nice, we just dont use the communal pool when we have one of our own!

We went as a big group again but decided to stay in one villa and could only get one big enough at Formosa Gardens which is just off 192, we loved the location of this one more so would probably stay in villas around 192 in future but really couldnt fault Solana at all.

Our only reason for our preference of 192 located villas above the villas on US27 such as Solana is that for 192, our villa was within walking distance of shops & restaurant/bars so we didnt need to take the car everywhere and could have a drink  without worrying about one of us driving back! x

Thanks Lisa - nice to know that it's alright! Less than 48 hours now - still in worry mode!

Thanks again xx

Have an amazing time Paula! You probably wont relax until your luggage is checked in by the sounds of things. The stress will be worth it when you arrive into Orlando tomorrow! Have fun! x :)

Thanks Lisa, I'm at the 'oh well if it ain't done then it won't get done' stage now just wish we could go to bed now and wake up tomorrow morning!!

Thanks for all your advice, it's really appreciated xxx
