Flight budget?

I am saving to book flights at the 11 month mark for Last week in May 2013 (half term) flying back two weeks later.

We are willing to fly indirect if cheaper! Every penny counts!

How much do you think we should aim to save per adult and for an 11 year old?

Your 11 year old will pay only a small amount less, for our flights this nov we are paying 514 for an adult and 474 for a child aged 2-11 so not a great saving on children

This is with virgin atlantic direct from lgw to mco

I know its not your dates but im saying is save as if your 11 year old is an adult as its not a great saving

Also do we need to pay anything for an 11 month old if we don't buy a seat for him/her? Virgin holidays gives an infant price, is this normal for airlines or just because VH is a package holiday?

Yes you ahve to pay a small amount i cant remember epthe exact amount from when i worked for va but we paid 150 each i think with vh for the girls last year as they didnt have seats

One thing if flying va with 11 month old request a sky cot, our girls were 23 months and we requested on and it was handy having the extra space as you sit at a bulkhead, we only used it for putting things on as girls slept on us

The very least you'll end up paying for your 11 month old is the airport taxes, which are due to go up to about £80 by the time you fly.

We're looking to go at a similar time, though may end up going before half term to avoid any price-hike as we're taking a 4 year old and an infant (probably 13 months by then!)

Hoping we can find decent flights - I'm thinking of budgeting around £650 per adult, and coming in under-budget preferably!
