We are flying out on April 12(our kids last day of school for easter break) WE arent flying out until 8:08pm which puts us arriving at 10:24pm at MCO. We are using Magical Express Service.

Do you suggest we take our luggage with us since its so late or allow them to bring to our rooms??? We probably wont even get to our room until midnight and I dont want our kids woke up at 2am when the luggage is delivered.

Any suggestions would be great!!!

Thanks

See http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1052007 for a discussion of your options.

My advice would be to pack overnight carry-ons and to use Magical Express for your checked luggage. That way, when you arrive at MCO, you can take the next DME motorcoach to your resort instead of wasting time at baggage claim. You can arrange to have your luggage "magically appear" in your room the next morning.

The luggage transfers are the best part of DME.

My daughters and I arrived on the late side when we were there just after Christmas -- not as late as you, though. We arrived about 7 PM, and were woken up to get the luggage delivered by DME around 11:30. If I were getting in as late as you are, I would get my own luggage to avoid being woken up in the middle of the night to have the luggage delivered (and they will knock pretty loudly!).

Generally speaking, I love not having to collect my checked baggage, but this works best when flying in earlier in the day.

I know I'm torn my kids are 5 & 11.... Do we try and get to the room as soon as we can or wait for our luggage.

I thought I read that you could ask your luggage to be held at the front desk???? is that an option?

I would ask at the front desk, and then even check with bell services also, just to be on the safe side. Tell them not to deliver before 'xyz' time in the morning....your choice. Then be sure to pack a carryon with anything you will need for the night/early morning. You should be able to have everyone have a carry-on with what they will need, or just the adults with one of those rolling carry-ons each.

I had asked at the front desk that they hold the luggage when it came in from DME . . . also called bell services right before we went to bed. It still showed up after we had fallen asleep. Now my experience could be unusual (it was Christmas night, so I felt sorry for the people working then anyway) and they might have no problem holding your luggage until the morning -- it's just what happened for us.

When we were there in October for our honeymoon, we got to the resort around midnight. We asked them to hold our ME bags until the morning, as we had already made arrangements for what we were wearing to the parks. We packed soap and shampoo to shower the next morning, as well as a change of clothes in our carry-ons. When we left to go to the parks, we called the front desk and told them that whenever they had a chance to deliver the bags was fine with us, because we were headed out to the park. They were very accomodating, and it was great not having to collect our bags and take them with us from the airport.

With the little ones, I would pack a backpack for each of them to use as their carry-on. Be sure to put books or travel games, because even though it is late, you know they're going to be too excited to sleep!! :teeth:
Pack a change of clothes in each, or maybe just a t-shirt and some underwear. They could wear the same pants and shoes at the park. If you are taking a late flight, and you aren't on it for that long, wear the clothes you are planning on wearing to the parks on the flight, and that is one less thing you have to pack.

Thanks for all your help. I think I will just let them bring our luggage to our room. I will ask if they will hold them till morning but, if not no big deal. We are lucky our kids sleep anywhere and sleep like rocks. So a knock on the door will probably not disturb them. I already told my DH that we need to pack cloths and stuff in our carry ones and he said ok no problem. We have reservations at 9am at the Cyrstal Place our First day for breakfast. I cant wait this is our first time going to Disney.
