Flex pass at night?

We will be going to Disneyland from 6/23 to 6/26. We have the passport plus tickets with the multiple flex pass from AAA. Our plans are to just go in the evenings. On the popular rides do they stop giving out the flex passes by a certain time in the day? Or would we still be able to get them in the evenings? We are not staying right near by. We are staying at the Newport Coast and planning on going to the beaches during the day.

SUE416S,

I am not sure if this will help you, but here goes. We usually arrive on a Sunday afternoon around 3:00 pm, about the time to check into the hotel. Of course, after a 6 hour drive from No. California, the troops want to go to Disneyland right away. :)

By the time we reach Disneyland that Sunday, say 4:00 pm, most FastPass rides are well over an hour away. Popular rides like Splash Mountain may already be 4 or more hours ahead. So, I would say that an evening arrival may shut you out as far as FastPasses are concerned for these types of rides (like Soarin' over California, Grizzly Rapids, Splash, Indiana Jones).

There are only so many FastPasses that are handed out for each ride. Some rides "sell out" faster than others. Once a certain limit has been reach, no more FastPasses are available for a given ride. I have seen the FastPasses sold out at Splash as early as 6:00 pm and we usually visit during the weekdays (albeit during the summer).

Another option to try if you arrive so late, is to do single rider lines. That way you won't have to wait so long to go on the attractions. The downside is that there is no guarantee that you'll ride together.
