flavour of cake

Hi

We have just been looking at the different flavour cakes, and we can't make our mind up. Should we have chocolate with chocolate, chocolate with raspberry, amaretto, really can't decide.

Can anyone help.

Can't go wrong with chocolate with chocolate!!!

I'd stay away from fruit filling, as not everyone likes that.
The simpler, the better!!!

I am a chocolate freak, and I had a hard time with this choice too!

We ended up with chocolate cake with amaretto mousse filling and IT WAS FABULOUS!!!!

The amaretto wasn't overpowering at all...just a nice "hint" with the chocolate.

I know that a lot of couples have different flavors for different layers. You could always do that if you can't decide between a couple.

We just did our cake tasting and decided to go with chocolate cake and chocolate mousse frosting and another layer of white cake with butter cream frosting. I keep going back and forth about sticking with those choices though. The amaretto was extremely good with the almond cake. I don't remember trying it on the chocolate cake but I'm sure it would be delicious. Good luck!

I personally loved the raspberry mousse! It was amazing! Our layers are yellow cake w/ raspberry mousse, almond cake with dark chocolate mousse, and yellow cake w/ Bailey's mousse. The groom's cake will be chocolate cake w/ white chocolate mousse. They are all so yummy You cannot go wrong w/ whatever choice you make!

No I live on Fort Hood. DF lives in Fort Knox, Ky. He proposed on his way home from a visit. Aw sorry hubby is in Iraq. Hope he is doing well.

We couldnt decide what cake flavours so we had 3, Choc cake with raspberry mousse, Marble cake with choc mousse and yellow cake with tropical mousse! They were all so yummy!!

I wanted the almond cake with ameretto mousse but we had several people with Nut allergies - that wouldnt ahve been a good look inthe wedding video!!

We had Almond w/ Amaretto and then Almond w/ Raspberry Mouse in the middle layer. We can never agree on anything.

Unfortunately, DH was correct in choosing Almond w/ Amaretto as the Rasberry was just too sweet the night of the reception. I was so bummed.

Did you have raspberry mousse or plain raspberries? We had marble cake with raspberry mousse and didn't find it sweet at all. I loved it, but I thought it would have been sweeter, I found it a little bit tart, which was fine since the cake was sweet and the buttercream (covered in fondant) was super sweet. It was the most delicious cake!!

as an Intimate, we have less choice so no tropical or Bailey's to choose from for us (I'm not paying for an upgrade). I have heard of some people getting 2 flavours, so if we can do this we're having almond cake with amaretto mousse, and yellow cake (vanilla???) with choc mousee. If we have to have all the same flavour, then it'll be the almond/amaretto (sounds so yummy!).

Raspberry mousse. I was quite stuffed by the time the cake was cut. I'm not sure I realized how tight my wedding dress until I started to try and eat. Oh boy!

I would still pick the raspberry again..It's more 'me'.

WE had chocolate with milk choc mousse, almond w/ baileys and marble w/ milk choc fpr pur wedding cake. For the Mad Hatter Tea we did choc w/ white choc mousse, marble w/ baileys & grooms cake was red velvet w/ butter cream.

My fav was the choc w/ milk choc mousse - the others were really good- the marble with milk choc was also really good - I love ANYTHING Chocolate!!!! Hope that will help - I also liked the raspberry during the tasting-
