Flame tree bbq

Not sure where you can find pictures but, This place is a must for my DH when we go. Chicken and Ribs is what he talks about all the time. Enjoy!!

Flame Tree is a counter service restaurant at AK. They have outdoor seating. DH & I eat lunch here every trip. The ribs plate is wonderful!

we discovered flame tree on our last visit to AK. loved the food, really loved the outdoor seating areas. nice place to relax and avoid the hustle and bustle of the theme parks if you pick one of the seating areas down near the river.

whatever you do, don't just sit down at the first table you see near the restaurant. keep walking. there are quite a number of seating areas and the farther you go the quieter and less crowded it will be.

Flame tree is another of our favorite places to eat park-wise, I agree with allyn above - keep walking further from the main area. The seating further down is gorgeous and relaxing. Once again, like Tusker House, I wish there were more menus like this around WDW for counter service.

I believe it is on seasonal operation. Make sure it is open!

I believe it's open year-round now. They closed it for a while after 9/11. It's a great place to use the coupons you can buy for $11.99 (I think) for adults -- includes an entree, a drink, a popcorn or ice cream bar, and a bottled soda or water - what a bargain!

Also remember that now the farthest pavillion, near the water currently has an excellant view of the construction of Expedition Everest. Not quite as beautiful and relaxing as it has been or will be. There are still very, very pretty places that are near the lilly filled reflecting pool and small waterfall.

"10/10 - Lunch at Flame Tree in AK, aka Revenge of the Birds. If I can impart a single bit of knowledge to the Restaurant board, let it be this: EAT AT A COVERED SPOT AT FLAME TREE! We initially sat by a little pond by the lagoon looking at the beautiful Everest construction. I picked up my drink, took a sip, and set it down. A millisecond after the drink hit the table, something flashed by my eyes. I looked down and saw super-fresh bird droppings right on the edge of the table. One-half of an inch either way and the stuff is in my food or on my lap. Folks, it wasn't just a little bit. This bird must've had the skillet at WCC the night before. We moved to a covered spot within seconds. We got the vouchers, which are a great deal. DW had the chicken salad and I had the pork sandwich. Both were great. We'll do this one again, after trying Tusker House. But under a roof, of course."

You can buy these at the same line where you order your food at Flame Tree and at Tusker House. I think they have a sign about it.

The coupons are part of the AK meal deal ... I believe you get a coupon for entree with a drink, a coupon for an ice cream treat or box of popcorn and a coupon for a drink. I believe the deal is $11.99

My favourites at Flame Tree are the ribs and the chicken salad

Their side dishes are good, too! The baked beans were quite good, not to mention the sandwiches.

Excellent food but beware of the bbq ribs especially...Not that they aren't good but the bbq is more of rub than a sauce and some people find this "too different" from what they're used to elsewhere in the Country...

Oh, the meal deal is certainly the way to go, IMO.

ahhh yes...BUT they have sauces on the side, a spicey BBQ one and a regular BBQ flavor (both excellent!)
