FLAME SUIT ON: Can I park @ BCV for the DVC Merry Mixer party?

If you don't want to deal with the hassle of it all, I would take the bus from VWL to MGM, and then walk to the boat and take it to Epcot. It drops you off right outside of the IG. You don't need admission to the park to ride the boat!

Just make sure you allow yourself time for the boat ride. Sometimes it makes several stops at the resorts before going to Epcot, and it can take a bit to get there.

Unless you have gone during extremely slow times this is a surefire way to be told that you CAN'T park there. We have stayed at Beach Club on a couple of occasions when we had a very hard time finding a parking space.

The guards told us specifically that the problem was due to people using that parking lot to visit Epcot. Sure enough, one night we arrived shortly after Illuminations and the parking lot was clearing out. The guards indicated that all they can do is attempt to screen to allow in those who have reservations to eat at Beach Club -- but clearly people will lie about that -- or are guests there (or a few other instances that I can't remember at the moment) but parking there to visit Epcot was definitely not okay.
Just FYI . . . . .

OP may well be told his purpose for parking is fine, but he should be prepared to be told no if there are few empty spaces.

I don't think this was during a slow time - I would have to call the attendance moderate. The last time was during a early June, late July timeframe last year. I believe the guard allowed us parking for several reasons - (1) I had a current and valid resort parking pass (OKW) on display in the vehicle window (2) There were quite a few empty spaces in the parking lot (3) I was honest. I was fully aware that access to the parking there was not guaranteed, and if told "no" by the guard on duty would have thanked him/her for their time and continued on my way.

When we did this it was usually between 7 to 8 pm in the evening. Maybe this had some effect on the parking availability as the lot I parked in always had plenty of available spaces.

I definitely agree with your comments. Parking at a specific resort is primarily for guests of that resort, as it should be. You should not put yourself in a situation where you HAVE to park there, as it is not guaranteed. If they say there is no availability for non-resort guests - keep on movin' :car: .

I would think that it would be okay to park at the BC or BWV in order to attend the Merry Mixer. :santa: There's really not much difference in the amount of time it would take you to attend the Mixer or eat at say Beaches and Cream or Spoodles.

Another option is to take a taxi there and split the cost with the others. I personally would probably not go the MGM/Friendship route as it could take quite a while.
