My DH and I are taking my best friend (48) and her son (9) for their first Disney trip. She has cancer we want it to be the BEST. They are Fla residents. Can anyone tell me how to get the best deal for tickets for them? Any other suggestions for their first trip under the circumstances would be appreciated. We are going 12/4 - 12/11

Thanks,
Lauren

I'm pretty sure that the best deal for them would be Florida Resident Seasonal Passes. The Adult Pass is around 200.00, not sure about the child's pass. Parking isn't included but if you're staying onsite that won't be a problem. :)

COPIED from the web page of FLA resident tickets..

Annual Pass Entitlements
Your Annual Pass entitles you to admission (during normal operating hours) to the following Theme Parks, (excluding special events requiring a separate admission charge) as well as Theme Park parking and freedom to visit multiple Parks on the same day

Adult pass $299
Childs pass $254

So, remember if you get FLA resident park passes it will also save you $7 per day parking at the parks....

I was talking about the florida resident seasonal pass, not the regular florida resident annual pass. If they are staying onsite it wouldn't make any sense to pay an extra 100.00 just so they don't have to pay for parking that you get free anyway if you are staying onsite. :)

Seasonal Passes do have blackout dates, we are buying the Fl resident seasonal passes at AAA and they are $192.50/adult and $163/child I don't think that those dates are in the blackout period though. Have fun....occassionally they do run a special for fl residents, when we went in March they had a ticket called Play 4 days, it was good for any 4 days in the parks and was $109/per person, they sometimes have something like this at different times of the year.

The next blackout dates for the seasonal pass are June 12-Aug 18 then Dec.18-Jan1.
The seasonal passes in my opinion are great especially since the blackout dates are dates that I don't want to be at the parks, most of the summer is just to darn hot and humid and crowded! As for the other dates......a couple of weeks during Christmas and a couple of weeks during spring breaks both times being overly crowded, so the seasonal pass is a good buy especially for those on a budget.
Yes parking is extra.now I think it is $8.00 could be wrong on that one though. but if you are staying onsite it's free anyways.
