FL resident ticket help?

I need some help thinking this through, please!

We'll be at WDW in 3 weeks. My dear friend who I have known since high school is having the WORST year EVER. She and her partner broke up, she had to put a beloved dog to sleep, she is having some scary health issues, and earlier this week she was in a horrific car crash (luckily she just sprained her shoulder from the seatbelt pulling on her).

ANYWAY...
I am hoping she will be able to come have dinner with us one night. I know she doesn't have any sort of park pass. If I was going to buy a pass for her, what would be the most cost effective way to do it? Just buy a single day pass? She is a FL resident but she isn't really a WDW person so she only goes to WDW when we are there, and we just have dinner at a resort and/or go to DTD. I would love for her to be able to go to Epcot with us after dinner, but if she isn't feeling up to it she could save the pass and I can twist her arm to come to Gay Days.

Any brilliant suggestions???

Well, I don't know how brilliant it is, but do you have AAA? You could buy a discounted pass from them (most likely the best buy will be the three day pass) and use it for her for one day and either give her the rest, or keep it for another person to use.

There's no discount on a 1-day base ticket (although FL residents get park hopping for half price).

The 3-day hopper is $160, 3-days without hopping is $129 (I think).

There's also the new weekday season pass for $169.

We do have AAA, thanks!

I was looking at the FL resident "Epcot after 4 PM" pass for $139, but I just don't know if she would use it. I can't see her driving over to go to Epcot "just because". On the other hand, if she used it two or three times it would be less expensive than a 2 or 3 day base ticket. And the base ticket would have to be non-expiring. Decisions, decisions...:headache:

Our original December ressie was a free dining thing that required ticket purchase, but we cancelled it because we switched to a room only on an AP rate. Those single day tickets would have been pretty handy. Grrr. Hindsight is 20/20.

Yeah, I know there isn't a AAA rate for one day pass, but sometimes there are good options with AAA for other longer passes.

We bought one of our "boys" the three day option pass and it was pretty reasonable all told. It expires in 6 months, and as he lives in FL he will be able to use it up before then. ::yes::

When do you visit WDW? For FL Residents there is a Seasonal Annual FL Resident pass (park hopper). It does have black out dates. As long as she has a FL ID or DL, she could get the pass, even if you pay for it.

Not sure if you visit during gay days, but the past couple years (I think) the black out dates start just before gay days.

HTH!

We typically go in August, but next year we are hoping to go for Gay Days. And since she's not really a "theme park" person I don't think she would get much use from a seasonal pass.

I think we have it worked out for now, since she'll probably spend a half day max in the park with us. If I can convince her to join us for more than an afternoon next summer we'll revisit the ticketing options. :)
