For those of you who have done this, what is bad about it? Why wouldn't you do it again? :)

I've done it, and have regular annual passes now.

Seasonal passes are decent because they are cheaper and still give you relative freedom to come and go to WDW without having to worry outside of the blackout dates. But if you have the urge to in the middle of summer, or want to go around christmas, you simply can't. Sometimes I had that urge and couldn't go and it was just too much. ;)

Oh, and parking isn't included. Which can be a pain if you and your family/friends that you go with all have seasonals (if one of you have an annual, then they can use that to park free). But when I had it, both me and my girlfriend of the time both had seasonals and we had to pay for parking each time we went, which almost makes it not worth the difference in price between seasonal and annual.

So, for now on, I spring for an annual if I possibly can.

But, a seasonal is better than not having a pass at all!

We loved them. The only reason we didn't do them this year is that we will only be there for two park days. We spent the money on no exp park hoppers that we can save for another trip.

The parking is my big thing--$10 a visit kept me from just popping over whenever I want. If you have one AP for your family, I don't think it would be a problem, tho. Too hot and/or crowded to go during the blackout periods.

Just FYI, we dont go during busiest times anyways, so seasonals are great for us (not to mention, aside from the middle of the summer, there's not many days you can't go).

However, parking is big for us, so here's what we do. I get an AP (the difference of simply 10 days parking from the seasonal pass) and then my wife gets a seasonal.

In the end, we still save.

Im Thinking Of Purchasing Ap Starting Sept. 2007, How Do I Find The Black Out Dates? I Have A Trip Planned Sept 13-16 And Dec 5-10th Of 2007. Any Idea How To Find The Blackout Dates Would Be Helpful.....thanks!!!
OH LET ME MENTION.....not A fL. RESEDENT, JUSTA REGULAR AP. OR ARE THE BLACK OUT DATES FL. RESEDENTS?

The blackout dates are for Florida Resident Seasonal Passes only. If you're not getting seasonal passes, you don't need to worry about it.

But, just FYI, these are blackout dates for FL Resident Seasonal Passes.

* December 22, 2005 - January 5, 2006
* April 8, 2006 - April 21, 2006
* June 10, 2006 - August 17, 2006

DH and I started off with Seasonal Passes. We hated paying for parking and we hated not being able to go whenever we wanted to. A lot of times we just go for a few hours, so even during busy times if we get there at park opening we can get a lot of things in before it gets too wild. The only time we really avoid WDW is over Easter. We have even gone during the Christmas break and had fun.

I love it and will do it again. There isn't a single thing I don't like about it. The only days that are blacked out are days that I wouldn't set foot in the parks anyway. The parking isn't an issue since I always park at the hotel and leave my car there anyway.

You have to be a FL resident to get a Seasonal AP. I'm not sure if you understood that correctly. There is no Seasonal AP for non-FL residents.

Also, for the newbies, for both the regular AP and the FL resident Seasonal AP's you don't have to pay for parking if you are a WDW Resort hotel guest, i.e. staying in one of the WDW hotel rooms you can drive to the parks without paying for parking. But you probably knew that.

We love our seasonal passes, as we wouldn't go during the busy periods anyway. And, we live far enough away that we can't just "pop over" for a few hours or even a day, really. So, we're always staying in an onsite hotel when we go, thus, parking is not an issue. I'm sure if we lived closer, the temptation to go for just a few hours, even during the busy season, would make a regular AP more appealing!!!! :thumbsup2

We currently have regular AP's since we live in Georgia and that's what we can get and since we only go during school breaks, it is the only thing that would work anyway. However, I plan to request a transfer to our Orlando office in a couple of years and know that the regular AP will be the only choice for us. My wife is a teacher so she will be home with the kids in the summer and I know that she will be popping over to one of the theme parks for the day while I'm at work some time so black out dates just wouldn't work. I also know that it just wouldn't be Christmas without seeing the Disney Christmas decorations. Heck, we still plan on staying on-site during the Holidays after we move!

So even after we move, we'll stick to the regular AP's. But if we didn't live in Orlando like grad_dis_nut, a seasonal pass might work out because of the parking vs. staying on-site.

I''m not so sure it's correct that you get free parking with a Fla-Resident Seaesonal AP.

I just renewed my AP this September (just a couple of weeks ago) and this time my wife got a seasonal pass, and we were told by the CM on the phone AND at the ticket office that parking is not free with the seasonal pass.

We were both just going to get seasonal passes, since we dont like going when it's busiest anyways. Instead I got an AP because both CM's told us that parking is not free with the seasonal.

We live in Pensacola and bought the Seasonal Pass, it has worked out fine for us, we will probably do 5 trips before it expires. We do not want to go in the summer; it is way to hot, we would rather do cool things like boating and the beach. Also the crowds at WDW are too large. If we lived within an hour of the park we would have the Annual that gets you into everything.

hello neighbor!!!! Gulf Breeze resident here. We always get the seasonals and end up using it for our fall and spring breaks. I'm really upset that next year there wont be a fall break for escambia or santa rosa. My husband works retail and that is the only time we can go as a family. I just refuse to go in the summer! Sorry if that sounds ugly but you get spoiled to going in the fall! haha

We did Seasonal for years with the theory that we didn't want to go during blackout dates, anyway. This is problably the only time in our lives we were wrong (kidding). :rotfl2:

We are the popping in kind of family, so we were messing up our own fun. Now that we have APs we can go whenever and not pay for parking. If it's crowded, we leave. We at least have the freedom of going whenever we want and the flexibilty to keep the youngsters amused. It's such a rough life. :teeth:

I've been a seasonal passholder for 4 years now and love it. I don't live close enough to just pop by and I don't go during those busy times :D I always stay onsite so parking not being included isn't really an issue for me :)

Miami here -- we love the seasonal pass (if you get it make sure to get the dining experience card too -- you will save plenty if you eat sit-down at the parks or resorts)...

The only reason I would upgrade -- would be to the premium annual pass for the waterparks.. besides that -- the seasonal pass is perfect for the following reason...

The blockout dates are during the summer which is peak and they run significantly less specials... compared to the off season time (when your not blocked out) you can get a value room usually for $59 or even a moderate sometimes at 99!!

Can't beat a weekend getaway for $59 a night and your entertainment is already covered!

Hey blueangel....The fall break for this year is still on but next year is very questionable. The state of florida has provivions next year on when we can start the school year. We can only start so many days before Labor Day now. So they are still trying to find a way to start the school year later and still have a fall break. I personally love starting as early as we do and really havent found too many parents who have a problem with it either.. Sorry if i scared you for a minute. I wouldnt plan on a fall break next year though.
