Hi all

We are planning our first trip to IO A since WWOHP opened and am wondering exactly what FJ is like. I am a ride wimp of sorts. I will ride about anything as long as there are no steep drops. I won't ride any kind of roller coasters and I don't like Sorin because legs are dangling. I will ride any simulator ride and I don't mind heights as long as I have a place to put my feet and there are no steep drops. So should I ride FJ?

Legs dangle, simulated (and somewhat actual) drops. I'm thinking this one is not for you...:(

On FJ your legs dangle. It is a simulator , but a simulator on steroids. It moves around alot and You are on your back at one point

As the previous poster stated, there is, unfortunately, no place to put your feet. :( The FJ ride vehicle is actually called an Enchanted Bench. Here is what the bench looks like:

If it's any consolation, I am one of the biggest ride wimps you will ever meet! I don't do drops, I don't do dips, I don't do heights, etc., etc. That being said, I love FJ. I am a simulator ride kind of gal and this is by far one of the best motion simulators I have ever been on. It simulates a steep drop. And if it's further consolation, we were able to get my 64-year old mother-in-law on FJ last November. She hadn't been on any kind of ride in over 20 years and she loved it, too.

I hope you'll post back and let us know if you decided to ride. Good luck and have fun! :)

Have you checked any of the Youtube videos to get a sense of the ride? Some are better quality than others and as the ride has some dark spots you can't see all of it. While it's a bit of a spoiler, it might give you a better understanding of the ride.

Try this one and/or search for others: http://youtu.be/91jmC8eJ3o8

Yes, legs dangle. If that is a huge issue nothing else will matter much.

The legs dangling isn't as big of a deal as that weightlessness feeling you get on roller coasters is. I dont mind going on my back as long as it isnt roller coaster like. I may try it but I don't think I will have my 11 year old DD ride it. She is far worse than me and doesn't even want to ride Spiderman. Do they have child swap? Ok she may be a little old for that but I don't like riding myself.

Yes, there is child swap for FJ.

Life is too short. Do it anyway! I promise, you'll survive.:thumbsup2

I am a HUGE ride wimp. The scariest ride i will go on is big thunder mountain lol. You must try FJ, it is probably the greatest ride ever made.

Its kind of like spiderman but better and a bit more movement but you don't spin.

It is a ride that will apeal to all of your senses!

Sounds to me like you're concerned mostly with negative g's. FJ doesn't really have those.

Picture yourself on the end of a robotic arm, smoothly swinging to and fro while the arm itself moves slowly on a track. The closest analogue is an attraction at Epcot called Sum of All Thrills. Suggest you YouTube that and you should find an exterior view in good light of the kinds of movements you'll experience on FJ.

Child swap is available.

I don't get sick on rides, but FJ made me quesy. I started to not feel well when it kind of laid back and spun around. I had to eat a little and have a frozen drink before I started feeling better.

But, tell the truth, it was worth it and you DID survive.....right?

Just ride it. You'll be fine. It won't hurt you. :goodvibes

If you won't ride even this, I personally don't see much of a point in paying for theme park admission. :thumbsup2

You need to try this! People travel from all over the world to go to US to ride THIS ride. It is THAT innovative.

I like all kinds of rides including coasters. I found this ride to be very intense. It is not your average simulator. I would try it bc it doesn't hurt to try it even though you may not like it. You don't have to do it again.

We just returned last week. After our first time riding FJ 10yr Daughter was NOT about to ride it again. The spiders in the dark and the dementors did her in. On our return day, she was allowed to sit in the Child Swap room by herself while the three of us rode it again. The Cast Members were great and stayed in the room with her until our ride was over. She LOVED Spiderman BTW (rode it three times, with us). It's not really scary, but it's really, really fun.
