We are just in the "thinking" stages of booking our first cruise for next April, 2005. So very much doing the budget right now. We just want a clean, cheap room to sleep. Doesn't matter about fancy, view or anything else. It would help if there's a shuttle to the port. Ages of the kids are 16, 12 and 11, boys. The eleven yr. old could even sleep on the cushions to a pull out, he's small. Can you help? Is there anything similar to the rooms at POR where there is a trundle? It really doesn't matter if its small. thanks.

We stayed at the Sleep Inn a few miles from the airport. It was 69.00 per night, and had two queen size beds. They offer shuttle service to and from the airport, and have a free continental breakfast.

We stayed there, went back to the airport, and took DCL bus to Port Canaveral.

I don't have a phone number, but look in your yellow pages for a toll-free number. They're also listed under Comfort Inn.

Hope this helps.:D

We got a standard room at Port Canaveral Radisson and one of the kids slept on the floor. They do have bigger rooms too. You can leave your car there and take a shuttle to the Port.

We are a family of 6 going on our first cruise this Sunday. We are staying the night before (all in one room) at the Comfort Suites in Cocoa Beach. We got a suite that sleeps 6 for less than $100. I think it's going to be about $78 actually. We have four young daughters and I didn't want to have to split us up if I could help it. Plus - like you said - you just want a cheap clean room for the night. i'll let you know how it is when we return. Note: You need to realize this is also a cheap week - low season - so other times will be more expensive I'm sure.

We are staying at a Motel 6 in Cocoa Beach the night before we cruise (2/29).
There will be 6 of us, but I booked the hotel for 4.
Probably not what we should do, but I can't see paying extra for 2 kids when we can make them up a "bed" on the floor with sleeping bags (we will be driving to Fla from NY).
It depends on the time of year for the rates, but the two cheapest places I found are:
Motel 6: 321-783-3103 (Cocoa Beach 6.1 miles from terminal)
Ecno Lodge: 321-783-2252 (Cocoa Beach 7.5 miles from terminal)

I got a price of $81.99 for 2/28/04. I think it's the busy season, so it's a higher price.

Good luck

:sunny:

Thanks everyone! I wrote all your ideas down for next year. A big help.
