Five Guy Burger experts

Our closest Five Guys is 100 miles away! Whenever we take a road trip, we google to see if there's a Five Guys somewhere close. DH is a burger freak and they are his favorite (for now anyway). I don't know what they do to them, but we sure love those burgers.

I tried them at the Florida Mall when I was at a conference and fell in love. They make them how I want them and don't make a bunch of mistakes. Fresh and my way! I found one in Miami so I am all set. Found out SIL loves them too.

Around here they are way better than any other fast food, they don't microwave theirs. BK or some of the others, you can get a burger that had been nuked to death. I love Five Guys but I have to admit, the first time I wasn't impressed, but now, I love them.

Oh, I didn't mean national chains, I meant locally-owned burger joints. There are several here in town that serve a burger for about that price, and most of them are more seasoned than the ones at 5G. Problem is that most of them serve frozen fries with that burger.

I've been known to cherry-pick my burger & fries experience; fries from 5G with a burger from someplace else, taken to a local park to be eaten.

I think that in price, freshness and taste, they compare to Culvers. The only thing is that Culvers offers a lot other options besides burgers, hot dogs and fries.

Culvers are also franchise and at least here they have been around for years and are spaced out further than 5 Guys. To me, they're popping just too close together and I'm betting that some will be vacant within a year or two.

One reason that I won't go there often is because they do not have a drive-up window. Same goes for Subway, Jimmy Johns, Noodles & Co, Qudoba, Chipotle...

Eww. I'm not a fan of Culvers burgers at all, but I do love Five Guys. I don't find them similar at all.

Not sure if these are around everywhere but I prefer "Backyard Burgers" over "5 guys."

I always wanted to try the cajun fries, but I was worried, too, about how hot they'd be.

One night, after getting my hair done, DS and I stopped in and I asked if they could give me one cajun fry to taste. They were not busy at all by that time and they told me they'd do me one better. They gave me a full large order on the house!

That's my kind of taste test! Mmmmm.... they were delicious and we've bought them again.

Oh man, I love Five Guys. The cheeseburger with hot sauce on it is amazing. Cajun fries are awesome too, they have a little kick, but nothing unbearable. Easily the best fast food joint around.
