Maybe it's just me but I like watching these old shows - especially with my cruise coming up in a couple of weeks. I think the DCL cabins are nicer than what Gopher had!

That show is so terrible it's...just awful. But it's must-watch for the ridiculous story lines and the murderer's row of washed-up guest stars.

I don't think I thought it was terrible in 1977 - campy, maybe? I think the guest stars were better than the ones on Dancing with the "Stars"?

Carol Channing, Charo (all the time!), Florence Henderson, Betty White, Shelley Winters, Rita Moreno, Kathy Bates, Tom Hanks, Tim Robbins, Michael J. Fox, Gene Kelly, Mickey Rooney, Debbie Reynolds . . . .

Until Bob Saget died in January, ME TV ran the original Love Boat every Sunday afternoon. They replaced it with Full House after Saget died.
I see the "New" Love Boat got canceled, that was awful. I was so hopeful they would use the old format with big name stars not some fake love show. Of course, times have changed since 1977 when the first Love Boat aired. There were only 3 networks to draw guest stars from, so they were better known people. Now you have hundreds of channels and streaming programming and there just aren't many big stars anymore. While the writing on SNL seems very good this year, I have not heard of most of the guest hosts in this diluted media world.

I love the old Love Boat and watch it on Paramount+. In fact, just watched an episode tonight. I would love a remake mirroring the old show. I watch the Real Love Boat now on streaming. I enjoy it but not as much like the old.

Another one here who watches the original Love Boat on Paramount+. It was bad, but it is still 100 times better than most everything new.
