Fishing Excursion from Boardwalk

Just booked the 7 am bass fishing excursion departing from the Boardwalk. I was told the fishing area spans from Epcot to Hollywood Studios. I had seen here on the boards that people have fished inside the World Showcase but when I asked the person that I was booking the excursion with, she said that they do not go in the World Showcase. Just wondering if anyone has gone recently and if they did go into the World Showcase area??? I am sure it will be fun even if they don't but I had hoped since it was the earliest time we would be able to get into the Epcot water... I had seen pictures that looked really cool of people fishing with the countries as the backdrop. Any reports of excursions from the Boardwalk/ Yacht and Beach Area would be appreciated. I saw people on the lake at Boardwalk at sunrise on May 4.

We were also told last year by a Disney Recreation CM that there was no fishing allowed inside the World Showcase lagoon. However, DH is pretty certain he saw people fishing there in previous years. Anyways, he ended up Nitro fishing on Bay Lake twice and absolutely loved it.

Btw - don't be alarmed if the boat doesn't show up until almost 7 am. That seemed to be the case for us...

I looked into doing this a few weeks ago, and got the same response from the CM that you did. I combed the boards looking for posts about fishing inside the World Showcase, and found some very old references. I get the feeling they don't do this anymore.

Will keep the reservation even if it looks like no World Showcase fishing. : ( I considered switching it to an excursion out by the Magic Kingdom but with staying at the Boardwalk it seems silly to have the hassle of getting over to the MK area for 6:45 am. Hoping it will be fun and that my DS will catch a few to make it fun for him. Would still love to hear any excursion reports you might have..... Thanks : )

my husband has always wanted to fish the world showcase too. He saw a fishing show I think with Roland Martin fishing there. My husband though wants to bass fish with lures and stuff. live bait doesnt excite him. He did catch a gator at FW!! and a couple bass.

Hubby DId fish world show Case....he loved it! Gotta b out of that area by 9am, huge bass!

Surprised DH with the fishing trip from Boardwalk for our anniversary. Caught 22 fish in no time at all. It was GREAT!!!! We went all the way down to DHS and on the way back the guide asked us if there was anywhere in particular we wanted to go. I asked him if we could go into EPCOT. Surprise -we were waved in by the Friendship captain and circled around the lagoon. No fishing though. It was fantastic.

I thought I remember seeing some of the boats in the lagoon that were fishing before EPCOT WS opened.

Either way, it was a great time.

Okay, this may be the wrong thread to ask...but my son LOVES to fish and would like for me to book an excursion when we go in Oct....problem is, he wants the trip "where the biggest variety of species is". I know that these are primarily bass excursions, but can anyone tell me which one he'd be more likely to catch all types of fish? Thanks!

I'm just curious how much they charge for these excursions? I'm new to fishing and I think I'm hooked It's listed in the special offers section but it doesnt tell you what the actual special offer is. We'll be at CSR so it would be cool to be able to fish out on Lago Dorado

On our trip last week we went running in the morning and saw boats down by The Studios each day. Please be careful of the ducks in the area. We were at Epcot one night and CMs were helping a duck that looked like he has string caught on his wing. Come to find out it was a fish hook from someone fishing and they just cut the line and let the duck go. Thankfully one of the attendants was able to lure the duck to him with some bread and was able to get the hook out. Please remember there is other wildlife out there when casting out your line.
