Fishing at HHI???

Is there any place at/near HHI where DH and the kids can fish? I'm not talking deep-sea or charter fishing, just regular ol' fishing from a bank or a pier. Are there any licensing requirements? It would be mostly catch-and-release since nobody in the family eats fish.

we rented the poles and went onto the pier at HHI. to us it was the most magical experience & we felt like our catch met the all time record of the day.

Awesome!!! I was hoping that fishing was allowed off the pier at the resort. I knew that they did crabbing but I wasn't sure about pole fishing. My kids don't exactly have a long attention span so a fishing spot that is just minutes from the room will be perfect! Can we get worms (or other bait) at the recreation desk or should be bring our own?

oh yes, they have worms. the crabbing is fun too. all available at the rec!

Definitely the fun way to do it-go out on the pier at the center of the resort. We've never gone fishing there, but lots of times we've been out there with others who were fishing and it always seems to be such a fun experience.
