Fishing Anyone? Near Disney.

My kids keep asking to go fishing and I was wondering is there anywhere to go fishing near Disney. I will be staying at Bonnet Creek for 2 weeks in July.

We've done two fishing excursions at Disney World. It's catch and release, but the fish are HUGE! I don't like fishing and even had fun. The first time we fished in the World Showcase lagoon, before World Showcase opened in the morning, and Crescent Lake, that was our favorite.We left from the Yacht Club. Another time we fished at Bay Lake, leaving from the Poly. That was fun, too, but we didn't catch as many fish.
You get a guide (who will touch the fish if you don't want to) and cold drinks for the trip, and be on a pontoon boat.

My hubby and son did this and had a blast!!!! I highly recommend it!

You may want to look into a guide at mosquito lagoon for saltwater fishing. I've never fished in any of WDW's "lakes" but I always see people out there.

I'll add another pitch for the Disney Bass Fishing Excursion....I also agree that Crescent has bigger fish!! I fish bass tournaments in Florida and in my dreams they let me put my boat in there

I hear people say it's expensive, but in m opinion you really can't beat the price for a guided bass fishing trip...in comparison, if you go on a guided Bass trip on Lake Okeechobee (the big lake at the bottom of Florida) with a certified guide out of Clewiston, you're going to pay about 250 for half a day...and that's not including bait, lunch, drinks etc. etc....

You can book the Disney fishing excursion by calling the Disney activity reservation #. I forget the exact number off the top of my head, but it's the same one you would call to book things like the fireworks cruises.


The information should be pretty easy to find on Disney's site.

As previous posters have mentioned it's outrageously expensive. If you want to go cheaper you can rent a boat at Turkey Lake for $15/day or fish off of docks at Turkey Lake Park for free:

i'm not familiar with florida's license laws, but i will say that with the Disney fishing package you don't need to worry about having a Florida license.

If you are on a fishing package, you won't need a license but if you fish from the Turkey Lake Pier, you probably WILL need a license.

This information is accurate....you're OK on Disney Property....anywhere else, license!

16 and under are free, everyone else $17 for 3 days or $30/week. Compare that with Disney's "license free" fishing and $250 for 4 hours.

I doubt the fish care if it rains or not. For your party a few ponchos will suffice.
