Fisheye in WDW

Hey all!

I'm thinking about renting a fisheye for our upcoming WDW trip. I think it'd be fun to get different types of shots of the normal things we take pics of, but I'm unsure if it'd really be worth it.

Has anyone taken a fisheye down to WDW? Did you find yourself using it enough?

Yeah, I've used fisheye lenses a decent amount at WDW.

Prepare not to use any other lens for the entire first day you use it at the park. A fisheye tends to open up creativity you never knew you had.

There are some awesome fisheye shots in that thread.

If you shoot crop consider the Samyang 8mm fisheye (Rokinon, Bower, Vivtar.. whateer branded version). It's a sweet lens once you figure out it's quirks and you can't beat the price.

Yeah, he's taken one or two....hundred!

Just look at Tom's flickr stream. You'll find great examples!

Thanks, everyone. Those fisheye pictures are great! I've got a tokina 10-17 fisheye scheduled for rental. Can't wait to try it out!

The Tokina is optically about the same (if not exactly) as the Pentax 10-17mm fisheye that I use. You can see, oh, 453 fisheyes on my Flickr stream, almost all taken with that lens. It's got a little more purple fringing than I'd like, but that's very hard to avoid on such a wide lens. If one were buying a lens, it would be tough to not recommend the Samyang 8mm, with its combination of price and performance.

If you want to see more Disney fisheyes, I would also refer you to the group I started there titled, rather unimaginatively, "Disney fisheyes" (and thanks to everyone who's been adding photos!)

Thanks! Yeah I felt silly, about 5 seconds after I posted my question, I found the fishers thread, and that's what put me over the edge.

On my last trip to WDW I brought a bunch of lenses... and ended up using my fisheye about 85% of the time! It was just too much fun using it! And I ended up getting some excellent shots! But now going through my photos from that trip I have to say to myself, "Sheesh! Do I have anything at all that wasn't taken with a fisheye???"

I'm exactly the same! I rented it, and it was on my camera 85% of the time. Got some fun ones!
