Does anyone have one of these? I saw a commercial for it and it looks neat. Any thoughts?

Like this?

We have one. It's ok, but it hardly has any volume at all which I guess is to protect the kids ears. The problem is that he also has one of those little idogs things and he likes to hook it up to that to make the dog dance, that doesn't work very well because the music isn't loud enough to for the dog to register.

We've never downloaded many songs or stories because --- I'm kind of cheap.

But it's a cute toy and good for the car. :)

we have one. we also have the boombox that goes with it. The FP3 player isnt loud at all ( my dd has a hard time hearing it in the car if we have the radio on and it eats batteries quickly. The boombox plays a bit louder but it only takes batteries so we are constantly replacing the batteries.

My dd loves it though and it its easy to put music on it ( exactly like an ipod) the only thing that stinks is that you need to put a picture with each song so the kid know what songs are there. it also doesnt "find" the titles like the ipod so if they arent on the cd you need to type them in.

We got our kids (dd-6 and ds-2) Sansa Shakers. They are made by SanDisk. The kids LOVE them. They can be use w/ 2 pairs of headphones OR you can use the little speaker on top (the speaker isn't all that high quality...the sound in the headphones is fine though).

The shaker can be worn on a lanyard as well.

We originally purchased one for dd but ds kept "stealing" it and dancing around the room so we picked up one for him too. Some Walmarts carry it but TRU seems to put it on sale for less than $30 ...twice in the last two months!

My DD4 got one last year for christmas. I love it! She drops it and it still works! I make my husband do all the downloading so I can't speak to the ease of that. We also have the speakers and she really enjoys playing her music for everyone to hear. We downloaded the song that her ballet recital was to and she "practiced" her dance every day! I like that it is pinkprincess:
All in all good money spent for this toy! We put Hannh Montana on it for her and that is all I hear these days!:dance3:

My two daughters got one to share last winter. The downloading is really easy and I bought a couple of the "Books" from the Fisher Price website. I "drew" icons for the songs they wanted that didn't have ones built-in already. I.e. a "glass slipper" for a cinderella song. My kids really liked it, but as others have mentioned, the volume is really low and too low to use in a car while driving. The earphones are not the greatest either as my 4 yo decided to pull all the foam off them one day. I think if the volume could be adjusted for in-car use and there was a little more memory, it would really be great. Overall we are pleased with the purchase.

My DS loves it! We put a ton of songs on it. I think we pulled them from his CD's he already had, too! He kept scratching his CD's so this was a better idea and less to lug around. He has never mentioned it not being loud enough. I was worried he would be to old for it. He is 6. We went ahead and got it though because he is all boy and tough on his things. He has dropped it several times and it still works great. Rechargable batteries might be a better way to go because it does go through the batteries. We've enjoyed it. One of the few things from last Christmas he still plays with.

I looked at it last year for DS(then 5). Instead, I bought him a Sansa Sandisk 512 MB for about $45. He loves it!

Does anyone know how many songs come preloaded on the shaker?

There were about 4 or 5, but they were all "baby" songs.. like Farmer in the Dell kind of stuff. We erased them easily and loaded what we wanted on the memory card.

Dd(6yo) has HSM 1 &2, Hannah Montana (all three of them), Jump In, Laurie Berkner, Sandra Boynton and some other stuff on hers. Ds (22mo) has Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Sesame Street on his.

very cute, thanks! I might get it for my dd(turning 4 in Jan) b/c we have both HSM soundtracks, and some radio disney jams, plus tons of other cds like the wiggles, and sesame street. Maybe for my 2 year old son too, and put on some sesame street, barney and toddler tunes cds!

Thanks for an excellent tip!

my mom found 2 at target for $14.74 each! I have loaded songs, but just waiting for the right time to give it to my dd2, just found the "docking station/jukebox" at KMart last week for $10! For those prices I can handle low volume and having to recharge batteries 100x a day!
