Would anyone have some experience or info on what the first week of November tends to be like:
Weather
Crowds
Special Events
Outside events--like sports, conferences etc.......
We have been in April, May, July, September, October, and December
I know things change all the time, but just looking for some idea, like I do not know when the F&WF ends. I also noticed that for resorts this is considered regular season. Just curious for choosing future planning. This will be our last fall before it is time for our child to start school and we thought we might try to take advantage of it.

Jersey Week is usually the first Thursday and Friday in November. Although this past November it was the 10th and 11th that the kids had off. November is iffy and was actually busier this year then previous years.
You have the last of MVSHP and then Jersey Week and then Super Soap weekend and then T-giving.
but the weather is great!!!!

thanks, I did not know when Jersey week was. I also have not interest in Super Soap Weekend. My sons Birthday is Nov. 3 so we were thinking of going then, but maybe we should wait until the first couple weeks of december or in early january. We love september for the crowd level, but my husband wanted to go when it was not so hot and humid.

Try the first or 2nd week in December that way the weather is still good and the decorations are all up.
I also forgot to add that the F&W fest at Epcot goes into the 2nd week of November as well

My favorite time is the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the week prior to Thanksgiving week. The way the dates fell last year, it ended up being right after Jersey week, Super Soap and Food & Wine. The weather was nice and some Christmas decorations were up. They also started the holiday version of the AK parade then.

Being from Jersey, we usually go that time in November. It is more crowded but the Food and Wine Festival is the best. The weather is also great that time of year. My DD b-day is 11-2, so it is always fun planning something special. But this year DH and I went the second week of December and loved that also. NO crowds at all. The decorations were great, the holiday spirit, and it was cool, but we were able to wear shorts two of the days. We were saying we may have a new favorite time of year to go.

I think jersey week is the 2nd week-well maybe the 1st full week of nov-but go anyway-it was not all that bad. pixiedust:

DH and I have gone in November the past 2 times (we've gone the 1st week and the week before Thanksgiving). We didn't find the crowds to be any worse one week over the other. Avoid MGM Super Soap Weekend if you can. It's a REAL ZOO that weekend. Also both times we've gone in November (2000 and 2003) BTMRR has been closed for refurb :furious:

We are going Oct. 29 thru Nov. 4. I thought Jersey week Didn't start until Nov. 5. Does anyone know for sure yet? From reading old trip reports and talking to people who went the first week of Nov. last year it was the week before Jersey week. They said during the week crowds where very low and there were no waits on rides so we are hoping Mon. thru Thurs. (Oct. 30 -Nov. 2) will be very slow. The crowd blog also shows 4's for that time too. Anyone who went this time last year have a different experience?

We were there from Nov. 5 - 12, 2005 during "Jersey Week". Overall, it was less crowded than the the first week in August, 2005, when we also were there. Some days were more crowded than others, with Veterans Day being the most crowded. If you are staying on Disney property, take advantage of early entry. With early entry, we were able to do Test Track, Mission Space, and FP Soarin' within the first hour at Epcot. The crowds got worse at regular entry, and the FPs for Soarin' were gone early in the day. The Magic Kingdom seemed to be crowded no matter when you went.

I think that many people had the same strategy as us. Our schools were closed for Election Day, so going that particular week meant that they only would miss 4 days from school rather than 5. We loved the weather during that week. We wore shorts and t-shirts and swam some during the day. It got cooler at night, but we never needed more than a light jacket.
