I think I have the green light to make our first family DLR trip for two or three days during the first week of November. Park days would be 11/5&11/6 (Tuesday/Wednesday) or 11/6&11/7 (Wednesday/Thursday).

Is there anything that I should be aware of during that time (are there Xmas parties like in WDW?).

Is getting a grand Californian studio through a DVC rental impossible? Not sure if we would consider that Bc I think we would book a Marriott on points.

Thanks!

No Christmas parties. The decorations will be going up sometime in that time frame, but that doesn't affect much of the park, other than seeing the overlays. Haunted Mansion and "it's a small world" have extensive overlays that may not open until the official Holiday season starts.

No idea on DVC points on GCH. Honestly, I've been told it's such a walk, it would be a hard sell for me!

There's a good chance that it's going to be an impressively busy holiday season. Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will be opening over the summer, so lots of people will be coming to see that. But, WDW's SWGE will be opening for the holiday season as well, which could calm DLR's numbers. It's a crap-shoot really.

Happen to know anything about the Christmas special tapings? That has occurred during our past three trips to WDW during the same time frame. The first year we felt the effects but the last two years weren’t big disruptions. Thanks!

Fair chance that they could be going on when you are there. I don't follow the historical taping dates, but I know it's usually just after the start of the season, because they can't put the garland over Main Street until after the taping.

We were there during parade taping a couple years ago. It was the week right before Thanksgiving that year. It really wasn't disruptive. Main Street was fairly busy, but the rest of the park was great. Regardless, it shouldn't be as early as what you're considering since holiday time won't be started yet.

Your dates are right after Dapper Day Weekend and before Veterans Day Weekend.
The volume in the parks is a toss up any more. Your dates are as good as any...

Here's a link to let you keep an eye on UnOfficial happenings in the parks

Wow! This is awesome!!! I have some reading to do. Just a quick thing that popped out to me. Will IASW be under refurb in early November? Is this a yearly thing? Or is that last years info? Thanks!
Most likely it is yearly because they have to close it to set up for the Holiday overlay. It reopens on the first day of the Christmas season.

It's in the later part of the year close to holidays so it's probably going to be a little busy but it's not gunna be anything to worry about.

Even the Christmas taping isn't that intrusive. Just find yourself things to do in the meantime if it does get busy and adjust your schedule/day as you go. Should be fine.

Yes, IASW is down every year during this time to prep the Christmas overlay. It starts in late October and as the PP says it re-opens with the official holiday season launch around the second week of November.

Thanks for the info about small world. Would hate not to go when we are here but man, it’s my daughters favorite ride!!!
