First Week of February is the Time to Go

Yes - shhhhh!!!!

That is our favourite time to go as well. I can't handle heat at all and we come from the frozen north so the weather has never been an issue for us. Even Florida cold isn't that cold.

That Monday is actually our last day at Disney and I am planning on a MK day that day to end things - hope it won't be too crazy there!

Just out of curiosity - do you pull your kids out of school for the week? Homeschooled? We are always struggling with the choice of vacationing at a good time vs. keeping the kids in school!

We do pull them out of school - it hasn't been a problem but they are still young - oldest is in 6th grade

We always go the second week of Feb, love it.

Pack layers though, gets COLD at night! We shivered our way around MK!

We'll be there 1/25 - 2/1 and booking our FP+ was an absolute breeze! We aren't interested in A&E, but could have booked several days if we were interested. We did get SDMT 3 days, and all for the exact times we hoped for. This is our first trip during this time, and honestly there was much more FP+ availability for this trip than my last trip at the end of September! Here's hoping the low crowds pan out!

You want to know what's odd... I had the same experience booking our trip for end of July/first of Aug over this past summer. A&E was available on our arrival day, for anytime we wanted and I was able to move the times around well in to late morning, even had some availability the next day. Same with SDMT. And the parks were far from not crowded. My best guess as to why that was is in the summer a large number of folks (larger than other times of the year) are staying off site so they couldn't book at 60 days. I can't come up with any other logical explination

We are only going on our first trip next week. But, I'm thinking ahead to our next trip...the last week of January every year, my kids' school system closes for 2 days and has early dismissals the rest of the week. Looks like a candidate for sure!!!

Interesting! Let's hope it's not THAT crowded in January! I wonder if the longer park hours in the summer helped you as well... one of my concerns for a late Jan/early Feb trip was that parks close so much earlier than we are used to. Seems like the late summer hours should help disperse the FP+ choices a bit. But whatever the cause, I'll certainly take the amazing availability for my upcoming trip! I even got a Wishes FP, which I wasn't planning on.

Been in Jan and Feb as well and it is low crowds but also check your "referb" list. Lots of main attractions are down for maintenance. That could be a deal breaker for some.

Oh no- I totally didn't think about that Monday having a Super Bowl parade at MK. It's the last day of our trip. Our plan was MK that day and Epcot on Sunday. We have FPs all set for that day and I don't know hard it would be to switch days. My husband says great, we can ride the rides while everyone else is at the parade. Should we switch MK to Sunday?

Super Bowl parade most likely will be in Disneyland this year and not MK as it is being played in Glendale, AZ.

• • 49th Annual Super Bowl - February 1, 2015 - Special Big Game parties or menus will be offered at select locations. Walt Disney World guests will be able to watch the Super Bowl from the comfort of their in-room TVs or will be able to visit a variety of locations across Walt Disney World property, including many bars and lounges. I said "most likely" and I wouldn't rely too much on "themouseforless" website.

I planned our Monday to be in MK with the hopes of possibly seeing a Patriots player. :cool1::cool1::cheer2::cheer2:;);)

That's good to know. We're considering late January/early February for our 2017 trip and hoping to go for my birthday(early February). It will be our last trip before our daughter starts kindergarten.

That's when we'll be there!! We're arriving Tuesday as per my signature. Just bringing hoodies and fleeces and a light jacket to stay warm. And don't forget those ponchos!!

Arriving on the 3rd as well and doing the same thing as you. Bringing some hoodies and a fleece.
