First Week of February is the Time to Go

We always arrive the day before the Super Bowl. HS is dead on Sunday - no MK on Monday cause of the parade - rest of the week is pretty clear. We always do Tusker House at 8:00 one morning so we can be in the park when it's empty and do the Safari 1st thing. Went online tonight at midnight for the FastPass+ and got everything - and had the next hour to "massage" the times with our ADRs, arrival times, etc. I can't say this enough - this IS the best week of the year - low prices - low crowds - weather can be hit or miss (mostly hit). This week has been a home run for us (from Grand Rapids, MI) for 6 of the last 8 years - highly recommend!

We're already booked for that weekend, but I forgot that MK will have a Super Bowl parade on Monday, so we'll pick another park for that day.

That's the week we are going too. Didn't know about the parade though, so thanks for the heads up. We want to go to AK on Sunday, but the crowd calendars say no. Do you think it will really be that busy at AK?

Just out of curiosity - do you pull your kids out of school for the week? Homeschooled?

We are always struggling with the choice of vacationing at a good time vs. keeping the kids in school!

We are going the 1/29 - 2/2...good to hear. We usually go Labor Day week, so I'm sure it will be more people than what we are used to, but Labor Day week is the most empty week of the year.

Wait . . . you can book your FP+ now? I thought it was 60 days out and 60 days from February 1 is tomorrow, right?

I love late January/early February and will be making a solo visit 1/28-2/6. DH can only take WDW once a year, tops, and prefers to go when we can use the pools but I love the lower crowds!

It depends on when your stay starts, doesn't it? So, my FP opens tonight, but I'll be able to book FP for 60+length of trip is how I understand it

I usually layer and carry a backpack to hold my jacket or extra clothes during the warmer part of the day. The temps vary a lot, I've had some very cold trips and a few where it was almost warm enough to swim!

That's when we'll be there!! We're arriving Tuesday as per my signature. Just bringing hoodies and fleeces and a light jacket to stay warm. And don't forget those ponchos!!

We were going to go to MK on the Monday but after the mention of the Super Bowl parade, I switched out our ADRs and we will go to AK on the Monday instead.

I make my FP tonight so it was perfect timing to find out about that parade!

If you keep talking about what a great week it is with low crowds it won't stay a great week with low crowds!!
That said- got all my FP+ with ease!! and I snagged a BOG just a week ago- not a great time- but i got one!
