First week of December

We are owners at BLT and love the convenience of the location. Going to take my Mom and nephew and 6 year old daughter to see the Christmas Decorations in the parks and do MVMCP. Would you choose BLT as its easiest to get to Magic Kingdom or Boardwalk or Yacht Club as you can walk to Epcot and DHS from those resorts? We loved our Jan trip and not having to wait in lines for transportation after long nights at the MK and the walk back to BLT was easy. We would just be staying in a studio.

We are huge BLT fans and love the ease to MK. If you are going to spend time there during the trip, especially at MVMCP, then I would go with that.

That is why we bought there as well. My DD and I did a short weekend trip last Dec and it was so nice to be able to go back and forth to that park so quickly, as it is our favorite place to be.

We even did the monorail to Epcot and it was not that bad.

okay if talking this year - pretty sure most of BLT is gone -if not all of it.

you can try but don't be surprised if you get on the wait list.

would definitely go with BLT - because both the Mk and EPcot (monrail access) are pretty wonderful during Dec.

the only other park that I would even visit is Studios. they have a great x-mas lights show.

dec is probably the most popular month for DVC members. because low points, x-mas decorations are everywhere, the x-mas shows that only happen then, plus it is just great fun.

Ditto that. I'm on a wait list and can't even try to book elsewhere until early May. We've resigned ourselves to the fact we can't get into our home resort in the 'preferred' window, but are getting excited about experiencing a different resort. Hoping to get into a 1BR at BWV.

would also put VWL, AKV, BCV, BWV on the list to try. especially for DEC -- both VWL and AKV Jambo house - has those big trees in the lobby. It is just beautiful.

Thanks! We just stayed at Kidani for a week...DH and I . While beautiful and wonderfuly peaceful. We did think it took a while to get anywhere from there. I guess I'll call BLT. Wonder if I have enough points???

OT: If planning on MK the first week of Dec. Avoid the park that first weekend during the day due to filming of the Christmas parade....unless you just like that sort of thing. I think they film Fri and Sat (but I can't remember). DH and I got stuck in it one year and it was horrible.

I just booked an AKV Studio on the Savannah at Jambo house this morning. They had 2 studios left for the week of 12/1-12/8. The guy told me that AKV is 4x the size of the boardwalk places and with only 2 studios left for 12/1-12/8 at AKV that should give some kind of gauge of how crowded it will be.

We were waitlisted for a studio and a one bedroom at BLT. I will be calling back on May 4th to see if there are any openings anywhere at my 7 month window just to get a room. However, I'm still hoping my waitlist will come through!

"Builder inventory" is the inventory (effectively percentage of room use) that is added from time to time to AKV for sale to and use by members as the resort continues to sell. They would be adding AKV Kidani inventory at this time.

Getting early December now at BLT, BCV (OP mentions Yacht Club but I assume BCV was intended) or BWV is going to be real tough.

If at BWV or BCV: BCV shares bus with Yacht Club (thus two resort stops); BWV shares with Swan/Dolphin, thus three resort stops. BCV is better to and from MK. BWV bus system is one of the worst for MK (and I say that as a devoted owner at BWV) but, of course, location for studios and Epcot is ideal.

If you can get in I would go with BLT as well. We stayed there this past Oct. for MNSSHP and are staying there again this Oct. for the same reason. The convenience is great. If you can't get in I would try VWL or AKV Kidani. We stayed at Kidani this past Dec. and the decorations are really nice there.
