I'm a little concerned as I noticed all the Disney hotels are sold out for our dates, Mon 5/1 - Fri 5/5. I even tried a smaller grouping of those days and except for maybe one night, there really aren't rooms. Checked Orbitz too. Nada. What the hey, this was supposed to be a low crowd period!

Does sold out Disney hotel rooms always translate to high park crowds? Anyone know what's going on? I really couldn't locate any big events? Eeesh.

May 4th and 5th are typically very high crowd days. I guess it depends on your definition of "low" crowds. I wouldn't expect that you're going to walk on any rides or extend your arms without touching another person or anything like that.

We're going May 3rd-7th and I noticed the same thing. Touring Plans has crowd levels 3 and 4 on the 4th and 5th, so I was pretty excited. Now, I'm not so sure. What is so special about the 4th and 5th that would cause high crowds?

However, we go to WDW every year on July 4th, so we're used to high crowds. Will be a great trip regardless!

We are going May 10 - 15th. for the Tinkerbell Marathon. We reserved our hotel in Sept and choices were limited than.

I'm surprised by this as well! Maybe it has something to do with the 40% off pin codes mailed to a lot of folks recently? That in combination with the above referenced dental conference and May the 4th.

Does anyone who subscribes to Touring Plans know if they revised the crowd prediction? Last time I saw the prediction was pretty low -- 3s and 4s. I know these aren't the most accurate anyway, but I was just curious...

We'll be there
Not fond of large crowds, so we'll see.
Might be lots of resort time.....and we haven't been to DL since Dec. '15 :(

May the 4th (Star Wars) and May 5th is Cinco de Mayo.

I just canceled a reservation for those dates about an hour ago at Camelot. Maybe you could pick it up! It was one of the family suites.

TouringPlans was waaaaaay off for our trip in March. It said crowds at the 2 and 3 level (5/6 on the weekend) and it was PACKED. I checked their results after we got back and the days we were there ended up being 8/9/10.

Touring Plans now alters reality.

It is so crowded all the time that people are using tools like that. They predict a slow day, everyone goes, poof, it is crowded.

We are booked at the GCH May 1-3 because the other disney hotels were booked! I ended up getting the 40 percent code at the last min thank goodness!! When I asked about it here (a while back) and a facebook page, I realized there was a convention going on that gave a good discount for the disney rooms. I am assuming there are many conferences going on those first few days!!

I have been able to get all the reservations for meals that I wanted, which is odd because of the hotels being so booked up! I just booked them today.

It's worse than I thought. HOJO, Courtyard, Best Western, Fairfield, Park Vue, all sold out too. There's some availability closer to the convention center at least :confused3
