first week in june

I scheduled myself for 6/6-6/9... The crowds are about the smallest you will see all summer... after memorial day and before most of the schools let out... also like the last week of August, just reverse the logic... Have fun, but bring a swim suit... summer temps start early in FLA!!!!!!

Just a FYI - the first weekend of June is Gay Day - it gets REALLY crowded at the Magic Kingdom on Saturday. You can check out their schedule here www.gayday.com

Thanks for the info on gay day. we go on the cruise the 6-9th.
I will have to check out the site. Could be interesting with 10 year old son. thanks again. teroot

Has anyone been there during Gay Days? Just wondering what it would be like versus any other time of the year. Anything parents bringing young children need to be concerned about or are there so many other people in the parks those days that it is a minor concern?

We are pretty open people, however, I will admit seeing a great deal of public displays of affection between same sex couples during our stay would be uncomfortable for us.

Nothing to be concerned about. We have been going the same time as Gay Days for years. Never had a problem.:)

according to there website: they will be arriving starting may 25 for Big weekend. i am just wondering how busy will it be before leading to a big weekend. we arrive at wdw may 27 - june 2.

Besides Saturday in the MK, crowds are not a problem.
We usually go the Sunday before Memorial day and stay for about a week. Once you get past Tuesday, the parks are not crowded and the weather can't be beat that time of year. Enjoy!

We are also going the first week of June. I just looked at the Gay Day's website and it said that Gay Day for MK is Saturday until 11:00. If the park is in deed open until 11 will it be open for everyone???? Also, does the MK stay real crowded all day on Saturday into Saturday night or can we expect that some of the crowds will get thin the later it gets? example...people with small children leaving the parks earlier???????

One more question.....Should we try to avoid the parks that are designated specific Gay Day parks for that day on the assumption the other's wouldn't be as crowded......?

MK is extremely crowded that Saturday from park opening until closing. It is opened to everyone....not just the Gay Days event.

MK on that Saturday is the only park that gets really crowded for Gay Days.

We were there two years ago in the gay days and this year will go the same week. We went to MK that Saturday and notice the crowds and ask about them to a cast member. He told us the celebration, then took the monorail and went to EC and it was nice. Not very crowd, was ok.We have kids and they are in the ages that ask about everything, and do not want to worry about that. This year we definitely will not go that Saturday to MK. we will go AK.
