My niece mentioned over the Thanksgiving break that her HS band would be going to WDW in 2011 to march down Main Street. She is the person who leads the marching band (is that a majorette?).

So, I of course am considering a trip to the Fort for that week and was wondering how hard it is to get reservations for the week after Thanksgiving? I could make the reservations now, but it's also been a busy holiday shopping season already and I'd rather wait a few weeks before putting the deposit down.

We will be there the 1st week of December next year and made our reservations a few months back, but we are also including a few days Thanksgiving week so that is why we did it so far in advance. I was told it was a good time to go crowd wise but I was also warned that it has been getting busier every year. Hope this helps.

Usually called the Drum Major. If she marches backwards as she leads the band, tell her to be careful of the tracks in the road.

It a really neat thing to see. I have done the trip twice as a chaperone.

Its really cool hearing the "Voice of Disney" announce your school.

For this video in 2006 I was on the second floor of the train station.

For this parade, just last Feb, they went from the front to the back so I was standing in the hub.

Thanks for the replies, I'm looking forward to this trip. I remember how nice the decorations were in 2003 when we stayed in the cabins.

Osborne lights, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, cooler weather to sleep at night, warm days (hopefully). I even remember having a turkey dinner in the trailer once while travelling to FL with my parents over Thanksgiving weekend.

For this trip, it would probably be me driving down and the rest of the family flying down so they don't miss much school.

There were alot of empty sites last week. Even a couple in 100 & 200.
