I've always wanted to go Disney during the holidays during Christmas. How are the crowds between December 1-11? Are the decorations all or almost all up and what is your favorite thing to see?

All the decorations are up, it is the best time of the year, IMO, hope to make it my 8th year in a row this year at that time. :cool1: Crowds are traditionally the lowest at that time, weather is great, value season for resort rates. :thumbsup2

Favorite? Probably the Candlelight Processional.

And, lots of folks from the DIS are there that time of the year.

How about the 2nd week of Dec.? We will be there the 9th-15th and was wondering if crowds will also be good.

First part of Dec each year since 1991 and we love it.We love seeing alll the resorts decked our for the holidays. The parks are awesome and we enjoy going to MVMCP and CP plus the Osborn Lights at MGM.The weather is nice but can vary so we dress in layers to be able to adjust to temps.Crowds are not bad but have increased a little each year it seems,I think the secret is out on this being a great time to visit WDW. :goodvibes

Our family loves the begining of December :santa:

We hope that it will look great! We are going at that time, too, for the first time. We usually go in October.

Hi!
I have gone in the first week of December and it is incredible. You have all of the Christmas decorations and no crowds!!! Also, when I went in 2000, each of the countries in EPCOT had their version of Santa. He would come out periodically and tell all of the kids (& big kids) about his traditions. My nephew was very fascinated with it. Vatmark, the second week should be the same as the first week. So you should have a great time. The only draw back to the beginning of December is that the weather can be iffy from a temperature point of view. When I went in 2000, it actually was cold with highs probably in the 50's and low's in the 30's or 40's. A friend of mine went the next week and it was in the 70's. That being said, I had an awesome time and it was still warmer than here in New England.

and it was wonderful (Dec 1 to 11) -- would go back in future years for those dates again in a heartbeat! Crowds weren't too big and Disney really goes all out for decorations, shows, etc ... for Christmas. We never had to wait more than about 1/2 hour for any of the rides. (MVMCP was great as well.) 90% of the time the weather was really nice --- went shopping the one day where the weather wasn't great.
