I know, I know - I should be thankful I have cable/internet and I am it's just $60 more - aaugh!!!

Did you call them to see about scaling the price down? That's a big increase each month! I've thought about looking elsewhere but I really do love my verizon fios!

Did you have some promo that expired? With all of the cord cutting, I can't believe they're implementing big price increases. I keep wanting to give up cable, but I like HGTV, Bravo, and cable news.

That's funny - you put the same channels down that I watch! Lol. I also like tv land for reruns of everybody loves Raymond and king of queens

Oh, I dvr Everybody Loves Raymond so I probably didn't realize I also need TV Land. And I love King of Queens. I guess I need Hallmark too--I think that's the channel that has reruns of the Middle.

Their business plan is simple, Raise the price and try and pacify you with more data and features you'll never use.
We have 4 phones and a family plan with unlimited calling, texts and 5 Gb of data. I know there are a few people who use 5 GB of data, but our norm is about 1. I'd like a lower prices plan and I am willing to accept less data, free air time, and texts.

You might want to call. When my Verizon was up for renewal I got a letter with a promotional "code". Despite my best efforts I could not get the code to work and so I called to find out what I was doing wrong. After looking everything over, they gave me the exact plan I had and lowered my bill by $10 a month. I lost out on the Visa gift card but it worked out better this way.

I am curious how much a month you are paying prior to the $60 increase.

And for what level of service?

We had everything a few years ago. Now we live with basic cable and high speed internet for about $75 a month total.

Internet is something we use daily and is pretty close to a need versus a want.

TV? Take it or leave it.

Me too! I could never go back to Comcast. Ever.

Thanks for all the replys! Well, I spent almost an hour online with Bill. Bill told me after he had me clicking all over the place, $210 was the best We only have Prime, regular phone, and 50/50 maps. We have 2 boxes, no specials channels, and Dvr. I finally got sick of Bill and hung up. We ended up saving $5 from what we are paying now. New bill is still $155 - still a lot, but I guess no choices cause we are not going to Comcast.

We pay 139 a month with a HUGE discount promo on the first two years for Fios with two boxes, DVR, internet and phone. Husband tried to drop the phone but it would have been $10 MORE a month, so we just don't use it except for my weekly two hour long phone calls to my mom! Our other option besides direct tv is Time Warner which we had a terrible time with. I will fight my husband to switch, though, if FIOS doesn't stay pretty much where it is after our 2 year commitment is up. I could do without tv entirely. I don't think $155 is unreasonable if you can afford it and get that much value out of your package. Winters here are looooooooooong.
