Hi,
This is our first visit to WLV and I am soooo excited! Any tips, suggestions, don't miss items that aren't obvious? Thanks in advance.

When you check in, ask for the Hidden Mickey clue sheet. There are something like a dozen Hidden Mickeys in the lobby area.

There's a thread on the miscellaneous board about WLV lovers. I'd read through that before you go.

Be sure to look at the weekly schedule. There are activities that you may not want to miss!
We wanted a relaxing trip, and took the time to watch some movies..don't forget that DVD's are free to get.
We like to rent bikes and go over to FW, there are some goats in a petting area, and there are the Disney horses to visit in the barn.

We stayed at VWL for the first time last week (18-23 March), and had a great time. We really enjoyed the theming.

When you check-in, ask if there are any openings for Flag Family. You get to raise the flags on the roof the main lodge. We did it last week on our check out day. What a GREAT view of the world!!!! It was outstanding. We also got to eat breakfast in the concierge dining area on the 7th floor.

Be sure to check out the carvings in the villas lobby, and check out the Iron Spike Room. There is a window seat that is great for reading in - and napping in. :)

We had a woods/lake view dedicated 2 bedroom on the 5th floor. The dedicated 2 bedrooms on the 5th floor have one long balcony instead of 2 small ones. If you have a woods view, look out at dusk (between 5-7 PM) and maybe you'll see deer grazing. A pair greeted us on our first night. And then on our last night I ran across 4 of them while walking on the nature trail. And there were always bunnies and ducks hopping/waddling around.

The Dream Squad didn't find me in the parks, but I got special dreams from nature and from being Flag Family.

Renting Water Sprites and zooming around the two lakes is a lot of fun.
Bay Lake is the biggest lake, so you can move around quite a bit out there.

I like to go over to FW one night to see the Campfire and Movie.
Bring the bug spray. The Fort Wilderness Camp board usually has the movie schedule.

Have a good time! :)

be sure to meet Ranger Stan - he's a wonderful man. We were the flag family w/him in 2001 (when we became DVC mbrs w/VWL as our "home"). Ive also been on a few Lodge tours w/him.
