Stopped in to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter yesterday. Impressions:

1. Theming is top notch and very well done.

2. Much smaller than I invisioned and with the crowds it was too packed to navigate in an ECV. I spent a lot of time parked up against walls (after my surgery this will not be a problem).

My 19 yo daughter agreed that it was very well themed (she's a hard core HP fan) and also agreed it was too crowded to enjoy. They did stop entry by late morning and were handing out passes to come back later in the day. We got in there by 8:30 AM and by 9:30 I had to stop trying to drive around.

Been there and it's off my "Bucket List". :wizard:

Cool! We hope to be there in a few weeks.

I can well imagine how hard the crowds are to deal with if you have to navigate an ECV. Rumor is that they plan to expand but the shops and so on will still likely stay small. I understand that JK Rowling wanted it that way.

I went to Universal Studios and Island of Adventures on the 20th of July for the first time in a few years. I am a big fan of Harry Potter, but I have oly read and seen the first book now I'm reading the second. Like any other fan, the first thing I did was get my return time ticket for Harry Potter. My time was like 11:30-12 or so. I returned back at that time and the first thing I did was go to look at the line for Ollivanders. The only thing bad was that there were Muggles EVERYWHERE! So I went to the Forbidden Journey ride and went to the single riders line. The line for single riders was so short and the ride was so great I went again. I passed a group of people I saw on the first time in line and they only took 10 steps in the regular line. Anyway, i went on 2 of the 3 rides, got some ButterBeer, and went off to some of the parks other rides. I went back after 1 or 2 hours and got in line for Ollivanders Wand Shop. I stood in line for only 32 to 45 minutes! That was an actually good wait time, seeing that they let 27 people in at a time and the show lasts for 5-10 minutes. When I was at the front of the line I was about to go in when they closed the door. I was so bummed. I waited until it was my turn. When they opened the door, I entered and went all the way over to where the staircase is. After they got the other 26 people in and closed the door, the actor said welcome to... we sell the.... since 382 BC... he suddenly stops in midtalk and looks at me. "What is your name?" I say my name. "I was wondering when I'd be seening you." My mouth drops and everyone goes ohhhh and a few sighs of disappointment. I follow him to the desk and he says a few things about wands; what their made of, how no two are alike. He sees a box and pulls out a wand he tells me to light the tip. The spell he told me to use was Lumos. I say it and there's light but then there was a lightning storm. He stops the storm and takes the wand back. He talks some more and he gets another wand. He tells me to move the ladder closer to him and I use the Accio spell. The shelf drawers bang open and close with force. He takes that wand and says you're dooing just fine and everyone laughs. He talks again, and then the music starts playing. He finds a wand and hands it to me. The lights get brighter, fans blow, and the music gets louder. And then it stops. He says, "Yes, that's the one." He takes it back, starts talking and gives it to the other person. He says, "The wand learns from the wizard, and the wizard, the wand." It goes silent. And it's the awkward silence. He breaks the silence by saying "Off you go then." Of course I buy the wand. I text my friends what just happened and they were like no way, so I send them the video. That's my story! Oh and by the way if you ever want to get chosen be the first one in and stand infront of the stairs.
